Is Karma real?

True, except that it's not a mystical outside force that is responsible for that, it's just cause and effect.

If you're clever enough you can get up to all sorts of no good and nothing will come of it.

Like what?

Why is Kissinger still living???

SIDESHOW: KISSINGER, NIXON AND THE DESTRUCTION OF CAMBODIA: WILLIAM SHAWCROSS: Amazon.com: Books

What makes you think that has anything to do with karma?

Quote from Wiki:

Kissinger remains a controversial and polarizing figure in U.S. politics, both venerated by some as a highly effective U.S. Secretary of State[7] and condemned by others for allegedly tolerating or supporting war crimes committed by allied nation states during his tenure.[5][8][9] A 2015 survey of top international relations scholars, conducted by College of William & Mary, ranked Kissinger as the most effective U.S. secretary of state in the 50 years to 2015

No it's a myth for the sheep to believe in, if it was real how come Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Pol Pot all died at home? Don't say they would suffer when re incarnated as that's just another myth.

Hitler? Died at home? At least he died for his own hand, as his wife. All the top Nazis had their different ends to their lives, either suicide or execution.

Most governments have blood on their hands one way or the other.

One could argue the same label applies to George Bush or Obama. It still doesn't explain what karma has to do with criminality.

Has the world and the people in it really got this bad or is it just 90% of the AN posters. If its not some drivel navel gazer starting a poll on whether people wear their shirt colllar up or down it's some wanna be super hero / psycho. Why would u go on a public forum and publicly orate what a scum bag  you are as well as bragging that you are a thief? Trouble is with this guy and many others he actually seems to think he is some sort of hero. If anyone has bad karma coming it will be you old son

So you stole a guys wallett, a young girls phone, had a go at a dying man on social media for all his family and friends to see and instigated violence on a complete stranger?

That's not karma, that's just psychotic behaviour.

With those levels of compassion there's a tsunami of karma rolling across the cosmic ocean towards the OP at this very moment 555

It's not rocket science. If I make bad decisions, bad things happen. And vice versa. IMO that's all karma is.

Well you understands karma - call them decisions or behavior. What goes out, comes back. The op is a self centered, self pitying, thief and fake. He will eventually understand karma because that's how karma works. His behavior is just plain disgusting and yet there he is justifying his behavior as karma.

It's real to me in the sense that it's a guiding principle in my life. It isn't controlled by some kind of god as is usually inferred but is totally under my control and only exists in my mind. I never dare to step outside the boundaries dictated to me by my sense of karma. Should something go horribly wrong I might be tempted to blame bad karma. When things go well I can attribute that to good karma. So, for me, karma is real.

Agreed.

A couple of things I remember

This is going back over 10 years ,walking one very late night in Soi yensabai Pattaya.

Back soi no one around until I heard a roaring motorbike and a blast of his horn and a hit with his left arm at me although I was walking on the side of the Soi

A big guy of Arab no helmet roars then hits the next speed bump and goes arse over head .

I'm walking towards him ,fat guy in his 20's,he is clutching his leg ,face in agony

Strangely the first thing that comes into my mind was watching that documentary when the American pilot parachutes into Afghanistan after his plane was shot then meets the Taliban in the field and he clutches his leg saying it's broken and then they shoot him.

I just stood over this guy ,no one around dark Soi and then I saw his wallet and picked it up and put it in my pocket and walked off !

Second one was only 3 weeks ago in Pattaya , in the Tops near Arcadia Beach resort around 3am

I was in the checkout when a young tattooed Thai guy and his girlfriend just decided to walk in front of me on purpose even the cashier said something to him but he shook his head so she served him ,all I had was one item and his GF laughed at him as he took his time.

When I got outside he was revving up his big motorbike  ...but...I realised little Miss laughing princess dropped her pink iPhone without realising it .

I stopped further up and used psychology to get him to drive off quick ,I stood further up pretending to try to cross the road and looked at him,he saw this and thought I will block him and he revved up and took off towards me in a hurry both laughing as they thought they had cut me off but as I pretended to be offended by their actions

I went back quickly there was no one around it was 3am I pretended to drop my backpack over the pink phone then picked it up put it in the bag and quickly walked off .

I quickly took it to the room I was staying in and went back ,I  went to one of those street vendors to buy pork and waited and watched from there  and I saw them both revving around on their bike looking for the phone !!!

I felt like a certain ecstasy over me as I watched their laughter earlier wiped off there faces .

The greatest news I got just last week was on Facebook I had a ex manager back in 1991  give evidence to sack me ,he was a nasty person , I see on the Facebook he was dying of cancer ,I write on his Facebook this is your karma good riddance!

I have sent copies of my statements back in 1991 to him and his family to say what a nasty man he was and karma is now around !

Earlier this year I'm in Australia travelling around , I'm a member of a 24 hour gym chain so can use any gym if that chain in Australia

I walk out of my hotel at 2am and go to the Anytime fitness next door ,I'm the only one inside and another guy who is shouting out loud on his phone ,he comes to me despite me and him only in the gym

"How long you gonna be on that machine buddy"? He asks

I said you can have it ,I get off and go to another machine,5 minutes later he is back around me shouting to someone on the phone ,very ignorant guy , I get up to move before he loudly farts near me laughing his head off to whoever is on the phone .

I decided to leave ,as I'm walking out the door into the dark laneway I see a guy outside on "ice" , he is standing directly outside the glass gym doors ,now to get in you require a swipe card and you arent supposed to let non gym members in

So I walk outside he has phlegm all on his chin ,appears angry

, I use my psychology skills and smile at him he had been punching the walls .

I took in a feminine voice are you ok ? He looks at me angry

He goes to hug me , I look at him with tears in my eyes ,oh you ok?

He then goes into angry  rant ,I open the glass doors of the gym and point to the guy earlier who is now on a machine still shouting into his phone and probably still farting .

I say to the "iced" up guy , he that guy has been saying things about you and go into more detail ..I could see him become angry and angry

He walks into the gym and is shouting " you ****** I gonna get you ! And is walking towards the guy shouting , " you *""""" !

I close the gym doors and walk off I could hear the shouting inside

About 20 minutes later from my level 34 of the hotel I could hear  sirens everywhere outside!

I felt good

Karma

The amount of bad Karma that you generated (for yourself!) is unbelievable. Karma means action.

You consider yourself as the one who has to bring 'karma' to others; that is not Karma, but childish revenge... You don't know anything about Thailand and Buddhism. You have no idea whatsoever what Karma means. Just rest assured, Karma will get you, in this life or the next ????

Here is another take on karma.  A true story...

About 10 years ago, I made a withdrawal of 100,000 Baht at a bank on Pattaya Tai.  I then popped into Tukcom, and privately decided to count the money.  DUH! Should have done it while in the  bank!  When I counted it, it came to 101,000 Baht.  So, I went back to the same cashier and had her recount it.

Sure enough, 101,000.  I gave here the extra 1,000 with profuse thanks from her.

Still with me?  When I got outside again, I bought a lottery ticket with the number 101.  On lottery day, the ticket won me 2,000 Baht.  Total coincidence, right?  But, makes you wonder ... .

I firmly believe in karma.  An example:

As a child I had a very poor bladder to brain response rate or maybe it was my faulty family surroundings but the result was that I often wet my pants in first years of school and continued to wet the bed till I was about 8 years old.  It was extremely embarrassing to the point I often woke early and would climb up into the old laundry trough and wash my sheets before the family awaoke but they knew.  My father would get angry and threaten me whereas my brother, 3 years older, would tease and torment me about it.  He used to call me Piddle-o and made sure all of our friends and relatives knew.  We went to the same school and there he went out of his way to let everyone know in front of me.  He often used to beat me or sit on my chest and spit in my face.  It was never ending.  I recall telling him in anger one day that I couldnt wait till I was bigger than him to pay him back.

Well I never did grow bigger than him over the years but I did hear a couple of years ago he had a battle with bladder cancer which left him with only half a bladder and no control over it at all thus requiring him to wear an adult nappy full time!

Lemme tell you about karma.

One time in China I went into a small shop to buy a box of eggs for 4 RMB.  I gave the clerk a ten, she gave me 7 RMB change.  I held up the eggs with the price showing, and the change she gave me and said try again.  She looked it over and gave me another RMB in change.  I just smiled and gave her back the correct amount.

Later that evening, my girlfriend and I made an omelette.

Karma!
