Out of curiosity not the cost my farmhouse on my farmland electric isn't free anymore.

 

Forget how it was set up before seem to remember less than 50 units was free.

 

The rate per unit is 38.61 now.

How do you come at that number

 

Total bill was 144.77 THB / 43 Units = 3,36 THB per UNIT

(The 38.61 is the FT Charge (Fuel Surcharge)) which is originally 39.21 THB but you got a discount of 38.61 so actually FT charge is 0,6 THB (see the minus next to it)

 

It was indeed if you used less then 50 Units for 3 consecutive months (and you are on a 5/15A supply which is indicated by the # 1115 (under type)) that your bill would be 0 Thb,

 

We have the same issue with the house and land we bought of our neighbours, only have 1 light running 24/7 there and usage is 13 Units and still get a bill.

 

Some one told us that they stopped it (0 bill if less then 50 units used), but I will know for sure next month as then the 3 months consecutive is over.

I've heard rumors that electricity prices per unit were going to go down as the price on gas was cheaper than anticipated.

It doesn't, but then it doesn't say that the unit cost is B38.61, either!  It does tell you the number of units consumed and the total cost of those units...divide the latter by the former, you know how that works.

That results comes from calculating Total Price (144.77 THB) divided by total Units used (43 Units).

I guess you used more then 300 Units with that you are charged the full amount of Fuel Surcharge (FT).

(guesstimate (could be wrong) is that you used +/- 376 Units))

 

FT Discount only for households who use less then 300 Units. So the more you use the more you have to pay and the higher the price per unit.

They have gone down. It is in the FT charge and it’s gone down by about 33%

Neither do I !! However I do have Google translate (lens) both as an app and bookmarked on my browser and so it’s hardly rocket science to throw any photos into it and get a reasonably good to perfect translation, along with the English text with the PEA documents it does give a good guide!

Virtually the only domestic uses where 3 phase power is more efficient are for electric motors, and how many big ones do you have?

 

To take advantage of that you have to either be buying new or get great deals on used equipment, along with having 3 phase outlets or 3 phase routed to the usage points. Neither of these are common unless building new. Also you have the responsibility of balancing the usage of each phase, hardly difficult but rather annoying if you have too many power hungry items on one phase.

 

So in short, if you know the exact layout of your usage and plan meticulously you may be able to install during the build without bumping the costs up enormously, but you need a large installation for it to be a cost effective choice.

Has anybody who has installed a grid tied inverter got any feedback on what happens in such a case.  My understanding is the meter runs backwards when fed back in and only when the authoriry come to check will they change to a smart meter and change your feed in baht amount to a lot less than 1 for 1. Also they dont seem to mind or fine people  for not informing them of the feedback solar system. 

Im thinking of going grid tie and taking advantage of the 1 for 1 until discovered by authority.
