Popular Post webfact Posted August 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 25, 2023 Police officers from Thonglor Police Station apprehended a 41-year-old man who brazenly exhibited a pistol on a table at a Japanese restaurant in Bangkok's Thonglor district. His decision to carry a concealed weapon openly sparked unrest among patrons and staff, prompting immediate legal action. On August 25th, responding to a citizen's alert, Lieutenant Colonel Phansak Amaraapithak, the Thonglor Police Superintendent, instructed his team to apprehend the suspect, Mr. Prommwat (last name withheld), for unlawful possession of a semi-automatic Glock pistol, loaded with five rounds, without proper authorization, reported Daily News. The incident occurred inside the restaurant on Sukhumvit 55 Road, Khlong Tan Nuea sub-district, Wattana district. Picture: Daily News In response to an earlier tip, authorities acted on a report involving an individual adorned with ink patterns on his arms and neck reminiscent of a weapon. This person had sketched and positioned the object onto a dining surface, initiating turmoil amidst the gathering of both patrons and employees. Subsequent to an inquiry, the individual matched the given portrayal. A subsequent inquiry exposed the hidden firearm beneath a lounge seat, accompanied by a fully loaded cartridge. Picture: Daily News While being interrogated, the individual conceded to transporting the firearm in the absence of the required authorizations and faltered in presenting substantiation of possession. In light of these circumstances, allegations were raised against the individual for illegal firearm ownership, the act of conveying a weapon in communal domains without consent, and causing commotion. The case will advance following established judicial protocols. Did this 41-year-old man act like this the first time in his life? What did he in the last 20 years? Does he have a police record? Or was he a harmless citizen until now? 1
