Sustainable Waste-Disposal Center to be Established on Koh Larn

Pattaya — A complete waste-disposal center will be established on Koh Larn, Pattaya, to address excessive garbage issues. Pattaya City has entered into a Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract with Smart Waste Management Company Limited for this project.

At the Pattaya City Hall, Mr. Poramase Ngampiches, the Mayor of Pattaya City, and the Executive Vice Chairman of Energy Absolute Company Limited Mr. Wasu Klomkliang co-signed the contract on construction of a complete waste-disposal center with Smart Waste Management.

 

The project aims to sustainably tackle the excessive garbage problem on Koh Larn with smart technology in order to reduce pollution.

Hopefully this project gets finished, and also it would be good if it makes a difference. On so many past attempts to improve things in Pattaya, many have simply failed.

Garbage is a huge issue in Thailand....if people need to pay to dump, then rubbish will just be dumped anywhere.

Increase tourism but not infrastructure, a failing that's been going on for decades.

The project involves a very large hole in the ground?

As many other Thai islands building it is the easy part.

Operating & maintaining it is another.

There are many plants on islands just sitting there totally neglected including two I know of donated by the French Embassy
