This forum is so <deleted> funny. A bunch of old people, just by the type how they write you can already see the picture of the typical Thailand expat sitting in front of a screen, complaining that Thailand is staying neutral.

You will be very happy if an international war breaks out that Thailand always maintained its neutrality.

How can you wish that the country you are living in takes a side in something that could evolve in a world war? As soon as bombs would rain over your neighborhood, EXACTLY the people here typing "ehh ehh COWARDS" will be the FIRST ONES who will poop their pants and cry for their mother.

They talk tough but its just words. Neutral is smart.

You're repeating Bignok, I gave my opion and you're entitled to yours. Wise people do not dismiss the atrocities of Hamas.

Your opinion means nothing. You pretend it does when it does not. Why would a buddhist nation with 3000 Thais in the area not remain neutral?

Buddhists dont want to get involved in a jewish v muslim war. These guys have been fighting for years.

Condemning violence whilst remaining neutral is just typical buddhism.

There are some serious cowards in this government. How could anyone in good conscience remain neutral? Neutral means they condone the slaughter of civilians, including the murder of infants. They need to preserve their Arab tourism at all costs. They cannot risk upsetting them.

Slauthering happens on both sides. And torturing too as in any war.

Peace talks have to start, not only initiated by the "world's famous deal maker" or all the other US presidents before but leaders of the neighbouring countries as Saudi Arabia or Turkey eg. And Thailand role to stay neutral seems to be good politics

Instead of having to chose a side , priority should be to stop the senseless forever fighting .

There are the pro and the contra camps , both have arguments and reasons .

Thailand should get it's citizens out , and stay neutral . Intelligent decision . It is not the fight of Thailand .

Or , would you expats living here , appreciate a little thrill to your daily life by some bomb attacks by some crazy muslims from the south ...?

Thailand , stay out of this , but advocate for the 2 state solution as this seems the best way to get a lasting peace .

Lasting peace? I dont think radical muslims want peace. They enjoy violence.

Most want peace ... it is mostly the young men who want " revenge " .

They suffered violence , they want to pay back ...

It really is time to end this ' never ending story ' .

But not by a genocide .

I don't know, I am quite warming to the idea of genocide .

After all, there are to many people in this World and it would go to helping that issue .

Neither do you. You are just a kw. 3000 lives still over there. Smart to be neutral.

No, I do not, but I'm not the one trying to speak for everyone as you do, by using the pronoun "we".

Neutrality is the coward's way. You're in favour of people ignoring atrocities.  Speaking out against tyranny is necessary for civilized countries. Thailand is not a democracy and has a long way to go. Their stance of neutrality is not a surprise, and it's the main reason why the Japanese didn't invade during WW2. Not speaking out is also a reason why the military are ultimately in control of polictics in Thailand. The people don't have freedom to choose.

Stop being a drama queen. Thailand said they condemn violence. They want to get their Thai citizens out. Most Thais are buddhists. This war has nothing to do with them. Wake up to yourself.

Neutral does not mean they condone anything.  It's simply means they realize both sides are guilty of atrocities and simply don't want to get involved,   It's a lose-lose situation.

When you can't believe what either side says, it's a yuo two fight it out situation.

Make peace or kill each other we don't care.

Exactly. The Thais are right to stay out of it.

Yes, very neutral. And you? Putting photo of Gaza after bombing. Put photos of the massacre in Israel. Children tied up and burn, rape of women, cutting the heads of infants, women and men. All civilians. Villages same in Issan. Very neutral. Meaning, we are animals same as Hammas? And if you not post this post, we will know ASEAN.Com standing too...

Thai people lost their lives and when a country does nothing, or in the least doesn't take a stance against it, it shows they don't care about their people. This is proven daily here and has been for decades so it's easy to understand why. When one country has leaders that practice genocide or the killing of innocents, every country on earth needs to respond. The reason all countries aren't united peacefully is exactly this. "I don't want to get involved". Let the US do it. Of course the US will get involved in other countries, because the US IS all countries, and having people from everywhere living there means it's their responsibility to support all nations. The problem there is that sometimes it's for financial gain. Thailand doesn't have to send soldiers there to show support. Although it would show more support besides just saying they don't condone violence. When every nation stands against terrorism and insane leaders, those leaders will be exterminated , because many countries that have dictators don't want them around. They're just too afraid to do anything. Same goes for Putin and Kim. Remaining neutral doesn't help the righteous. It shows they either don't care to get involved from cowardice or think they might lose money from trade from that nation.

I agree with most of what you've said, but the Japanese did invade Thailand, and they backed down the same day, and many of their people were killed and used for labor. Thais actually were the first to start building the Burma -Thailand railroad.

Again, every country that is invaded by maniacs and terrorists needs support. Terrorism strengthens because too many are neutral.
