Israel's options don't look good - but a full-scale military campaign in the near future is inevitable

No, I'm not looking at it from a wrong angle. I'm just not looking at it from just a political party angle. I'm looking at it from an angle of where popular sentiment lies. And the populace has clearly moved away from supporting the core positions of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. It used to be that Hamas was reckoned to excel at providing government services. But it has lost its support even in that. Granted, as a report from that organization shows, there usually is an upsurge of support when Israel attacks. But even at the height of the upsurge, the support isn't what it used to be. The trend is downwards no matter what the fluctuations may be.

Whatever you say. IMO, you do not actually know much about this, but rely on figures and interpretations you favor. I did not address things 'from just a political party angle', of course, but then again - that's the way you roll. It would be more interesting if you had some insight on offer rather than putting complete and utter faith in polls.

Well, I go with what there is. And these polls are done at a very high standard. If you go to the reports you can read all about the protocols. Anyway, the point is what you['re doing it handicapping political parties and their prospects. It seems dubious that there's going to be more of the same. If elections ever are held.

You go with what you have, which are numbers on polls, and quick look to see if you can 'back them up' with a headline and a link. You can go on with your usual debate tactics trying to frame other posters' arguments to fit you own. Not impressed, nor interested.

Not interested and yet you reply? But I do believe that you lack enough interest even to look at those polls and how they were conducted.

I have already cited evidence from the report that does support this.

From your link:

How much trust do you have in the Hamas-led government?

A great deal of faith:  ~12%

Quite a lot:                  ~17%

Not a lot:                    ~23%

                                   ~52%

Not at all:                   ~45%

So less than half have no faith in the Hamas-led government. How can you claim that is not significant? Clearly hamas is polling better among Palestinians than President Biden is polling among Americans.

More from your link:

Which party, if any, do you feel closest to?

Fatah                                     ~30%

Hamas                                   ~27%

Palestinian Islamic jihad        ~7%

Other,                                     ~14%

No party                                 ~15%

Don't know                              ~7%

So combined, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad parties are the largest voting bloc in Palestine, and both are terrorist groups, and both want to exterminate all the Jews in Israel, after raping many of them.

Biden's numbers are hardly relevant. Many Democrats don't want him to run again, thus his low numbers. As for second poll, for now there's not much choice, but that could change if the prospect of a viable Palestinian state emerged. That would require a new Israeli government capable of reassessing the national interest, plus a plan to remove all problematic settlements from the West Bank and otherwise make West Bank and Gaza a place where Palestinians can live unmolested.

It would also require a unified Palestinian government, supported by the Palestinians and able to make the relevant decisions. As usual with your posts, the Palestinians seem to be absent....

No, once there's a ceasefire and the hostages are all ransomed, the Palestinians will form a new nation that will thrive and live in peaceful harmony with the little sat...errrrr... Irael.
