Most of us are over leftist basketweaving Pallie sympathisers. Just saying. Hmmm...I'm aligned with moderate right-wing politics. You don't have to be pro-Zionist to do so. Lazy characterization. Rather, I'm someone who has studied the history of the Middle East conflict and formed his own opinion. From what I can see, the fact this conflict is still ongoing is because there is a deep-rooted failure on both sides. Neither can accept how to divide this land up properly and they never will it seems. And building settlements on already disputed land, contrary to international law, hardly helps either. Hamas are despicable people. Despicable. Radical Islam is a real threat to Western democracy, no doubt. They run Gaza - which was occupied until 2005 - but the democracy aspect is a sham. Most people crowded into that dump don't need this - bombing and starving them into submission is going to make things worse in the long run. Netanyahu is deeply unpopular, corrupt and the wrong leader to deal with this. The US need to keep him in check since they bankroll the country to some extent. Regarding terrorism. No doubt Hamas, ISIS are the worst of the worse. But what would you say about those in the Irgun who blew up the King David Hotel in 1946 and killed 91 people...what were they? Israel present them as far from being terrorists. Just saying.... Edited October 17, 2023 by MarkyM3
Dirk Z
I think you are looking for a real and serious answer. It depends on what you are looking for. Shopping? Bars (what kind)? Live music? Restaurants? There is a lot of everything going on, I live in the middle of it and thoroughly enjoy it.
MarkyM3
I stayed down at Shama, on Ratchadapisek Rd. near to Asok last time I was in town. Soi 10 for 6 months of the previous year. That's the better end of the strip imo - Soi 4 is still within easy reach if you want to hang out down there while the area towards Thong Lor branches in the other direction. Terminal 21 is nearby for shopping and Benjakitti Park close by for some walking and relief from the concrete jungle. Soi 4 area is not somewhere I'd have a hotel in these days, though, unless you are planning to hang out in the bars and Plaza most of the time. Good for a night out on occasions tho. observer90210
He means Sukhumvit around Nana Plaza area ?????????. Same ole girlies and ladyboys I would say and the same girls hunting only Korean or Japanese customers at the Thermae who foolishly shell out double or triple charge.????

I'm American, we save all our racism for 2 groups. Euro's, Brits and Commonwealth just cut to the chase and look down on everyone. Even each other. I love that. Sukhamvit is one of the most successful tourist zones in the world. It reminds me of the old joke: That place is so popular that no one goes there any more. Can you name another place with more 5* restaurants in such a small space? And great Sunday roasts for your chavvy ilk.

There was Grace on the one side and Nana complex on the other. All full of filthy sex tourists. No need to discriminate amongst the lowlife. But sometimes we would head over to Sukhumvit for a change of diet late at night. Took Lae Dee was always open. Reminded me of a scene in Stars Wars. Lot of people on the street walking nowhere and buying nothing. Lots of family types....why come to soi 4 thru soi 20+? You of course are here for the temples, floating markets and handicrafts demonstrations and everyone else is a vile sexpat. This is where you have to come to be able to get a feeling of superiority? Couldn't manage that in your home country. Shame you can't go home.
