Thai Customs Department officials seized 4.06 kilograms of type 1 narcotics, heroin, valued at over 12.18 million baht, concealed in resin molds and prepared for international postage to Australia.

Siam Rath reported that the bust occurred at the Suvarnabhumi Mail Center. The intensified scrutiny follows the directives of Prime Minister Srettha Taweesin, reflecting the government’s prioritized focus on addressing the drug issue urgently.

On October 17, the customs officials discovered two suspicious packages originating from a northern province of Thailand, destined for Australia.

A risk assessment, considering the sender's location and the recipient's country, raised alarms leading to an inspection. Unwrapping revealed unusual resin molds, and subsequent testing confirmed the encased illegal substance.

All very carefully and transparently disposed of.
