Because it's unacceptable but if you like it instead, to be overcharged or forced to change your seat or even denied to boarding (not yet but could be in the future) due to your weight well take a seat

It's unacceptable at the moment Airlines to North America are four times the normal price and now they're trying to do weight restrictions they're raking in the money because the Chinese Airlines aren't flying

A couple of years ago I took a PAL flight. Dozens of Filipino passengers were allowed to totally ignore the hand baggage rules and boarded with several heavy bags each..totally ignored by the gossiping and preening flight attendants. Result: the plane was found to be overweight and some hold luggage ..including all of my own was deplaned!!! On arrival in Surigao I was given the princely sum of 1000 pesos ( about 15GBP) as compensation to buy a few clothes till mine turned up..and I even had to fight for that!!!

I support the airlines in checking passenger weights ...including their carry on luggage. At the moment those of us who keep to the rules are punished for the benefit of greedy passengers who won't pay for extra hold luggage and try and sneak it on the plane.

What's more unacceptable is for you to claim, falsely, that that is what is happening.   Try reading the article again and quote the part where extra charges or booked seat changes were mentioned.

I've researched and it was a cargo airplane carrying 270 tonnes. Part of this very heavy weight wasn't secured and "went through the bulkhead and disabled two hydraulic systems, making the aircraft uncontrollable."

 

Still, nothing to do with a small (and fixed, not shifting) imbalance between passengers on different parts of the plane. They just want another way to charge more money, that's it.

Nothing to do with COG, it was slightly overloaded and had a mechanical failure of the the elevator control cable. If you are going to supply links, read them and make them applicable!

Jet Fuel pretty much is diesel - current price  (and of course it fluctuates) is close to 55 Cents USD/Litre. Wish I could buy diesel at that price!

You may not be aware of this, but when you put your luggage on the conveyor belt at the check-in counter it is weighed and the weight is automatically recorded in a database as part of an estimation of the flight's take-off weight.

One may have belived some sort of weight partition or basic aeronautic physics had it been another airline.

 

But with all respect, when many things are enforced in Thailand, the main purpose is to make.....

Simple as that. Fairness is good for everyone. Everybody wins. How can you argue that.
