In Europe the AWD model around 2.000.000 THB so don't complain here in Thailand 🙂

Sadly - it also indicates that the whole climate change alarmist sham will unravel shortly, for if we are to do everything to reduce greenhouse gases, politics would have to take a backseat, and sales of electric vehicles be pushed to the hilt - Chinese made or otherwise!

As for myself - if I did not have my own 'gas' station on my roof, I would probably pass on electric vehicles......... alas, maybe not, because the technological superiority of Chinese made cars is hard to pass up, too.  :omfg:

I have reported your post to the AseanNow moderators as a dangerous post because in your last sentence where you say, ".....because the technological superiority of Chinese made cars is hard to pass up..." is going to make some pro-ICEV/anti-EVers really mad....possibly cause a dangerous rise in their blood pressure in turn causing a stroke. 😜😉😉

Every time I sit in a legacy automaker’s car, I am underwhelmed. Black plastics, a piddly little infotainment screen with crappy proprietary software, vibrations, noise…

Could never go back to an ICE unless it’s one of the top range German premium vehicles in which case I would probably choose to EV version.

@JBChiangRai, @Bandersnatch and @mistral53 have also done the SIM swap possibly, i wonder if they are having any similar issues ?

I was a BYD today and asked about the SIM swap and they said that my SIM would be "updated, not replaced" they are doing it today, I will report back any findings

The SIM that is currently in BYD vehicle is a SINGTEL SIM....Singapore Telecon...or at least that what was in my Atto that I personally confirmed before having the SIM swap accomplished....and others in Thailand on the social media circuit have made similar posts.  After the SIM upgrade...swap...etc., I had a True SIM in my Atto that I once again personally confirmed by going into the Infotainment system where you can see the name of the SIM installed (not to be confused with whatever local network such as AIS, True, DTAC, etc., the SIM may connect to....just like how a foreign SIM will connect with local networks.

Now maybe BYD dealerships have the capability to basically rewrite a SIM like a flash drive and they just reuse the current SIM....but I kinda doubt they go that route.  Instead, they probably just have SIM swap/upgrade kits with a True SIM and then they update the BYD server in the sky saying the car no longer has SIM so-in-so but this new SIM so-in-so.

But hey, whether they put in a new SIM or rewrite the old SIM the results are the same.

As Pib says, probably replaced .

Yep, apparently they will now give a further 3 months validity ( 2 years and 3 months instead of the original 2 years)  on the 2gb monthly data.

They will probably add an app called Gbox and add several apps ( YouTube, Google Maps and a Thai digital radio app etc ) within Gbox will be a further list of available apps and Google Play Store within which will be numerous apps and games etc.

Don’t get too excited though its a bit of a non event imho.

Mine has been done at service too, I got GBox and a couple of my apps disappeared.  I sill can't get ChargeLoma or PlugShare to work.

I still have Aurora Store which I installed a long time ago, it is like a Google Play store so I can find almost any app and download/install it from Aurora.

Yes some of my sideloaded apps disappeared also, i think only Waze survived.

Will take a look at Aurora as apparently it is possible to sideload again now.

TBH, if I could just put Google Maps on the Home Screen to replace the Navigation i would be happy, I had it before and worked great even in portrait mode.

Charge Loma and PlugShare never worked for me either ( maps never showed ) , EV Station Pluz app might be handy to have on the car screen ?

Google maps works and loads for me, but it only gets my vehicle's location at load time, it doesn't seem to update my location as I'm driving.

Been using Google Maps via CarPlay and it seems to work okay but is a bit strange .

Google maps on the infotainment system has a very high resolution map, the position update is probably something to do with app permissions.

Will give it a go ( via gbox you mean ? ) via CarPlay now has a big border top and bottom and looks kinda funky !
