Awards 2023 voted Thailand the winner of the category, the first time the award has been bestowed on the kingdom.

The awards have been running for 26 years, recognising outstanding players in the travel industry.

That was quick work :coffee1:

Well, I can't think of a better place I want to be.

I agree with you.......

Every time there is any positive  news about Thailand , you get this chorus of posters who are eager to tell you its all lies / proper gander, place isn't as good as  #*$% or xyz

Yet many of these same people ,sold their house took their savings and came to live here........ does your head in reading them...............:w00t:

Not quite correct.

It was not travellers per se but travel professionals that awarded this silly award.

There is a difference.

It never ceases to amaze me that with all the great destination countries in the world. Thailand somehow does well with "awards".

I'm scratching my head!

Note, also, that this was based on a survey of Danish travellers.

The subject is about what Danish travellers find best, not what all people in the whole World find best; remember, that there are only little more than 6 million of us Danes, so we don't count much in World-figures...:whistling:

The USA has lovely beaches, 90 day stay hassle free visa, cheap food and of course great health care. Miami not to mention and other areas. Even Mexico has great quality of living, cheap cost of living, good infrastructure and does not harass people for visa, immigration or other absurd forms that Thailand enforces on foreigners. You cannot judge a country just after a 3 week holiday spent mainly with barstool ladies and whisky.

What is a travel "professional" ?

The translation of the original text in the Danish news article on which the OP is based would be "professionals from the travel, tourism and aviation industry". It is up to you and me and all other readers to assign our own individual meanings to the term "professional" as used in this context.

Really? Who can turn up 90 day visa free to visit the USA's "great beaches"??

This is hilarious. Great health care at what price?

No one cares, apart from you who clicked on the article, read it, then came here to grumble about it and express your bitterness about Thailand. So evidently you care for one?

Costly of course. But hardly more costly then the top private hospitals in Thailand.

As for visa, most under Thai visa waiver are also eligible to 90 day stay with the US tourist visa B2, and 1000 times less hassle once you get it.
