webfact Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Pattaya — The road in Soi Buakhao, Pattaya, is set to undergo a major overhaul to convert it into a one-way street for improved traffic flow. Pattaya city officials said they will try out the one-way system within the next one to two weeks after the placement of notice signs to inform the public in advance. The major change followed the resolution of a meeting of the local Pattaya administration committee to convert the road in Soi Buakhao into a one-way street. This decision was made due to regular issues of high congestion and traffic density in the area. Other stretches including Soi Pattaya Sai 2 Road entering Soi Buakhao, Soi Chaloem Phra Kiat (Sai 3) entering Soi Buakhao, and parts of Jomtien Beach Road will also be converted to one-way for better mobility. City officials will visit the area to gather people’s thoughts about the change before implementing the shift within one to two weeks. This traffic change on Soi Buakhao was very briefly tested during Covid lockdowns during 2021 and the feedback and data from that brief test will be used for this permanent implementation. keith101 Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Which way will it run ? from Central road to south Pat road or the other way
smedly Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 not workable, a better idea would be to convert it to motorbike only and bahtbus only 1
scubascuba3 Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 I guess the biggest known unknown is the baht buses and how they will change and when will the fights start

Looks like they will head to Buakhao to talk to some dirty farang and quickly realise that was a waste of time 1

Gsxrnz Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Will they provide seating and popcorn for this debacle event, and where does one purchase tickets? 1

Popular Post biggles45 Posted November 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2023 Thais riding motorbikes will totally ignore this new rule, as they do with any one way street. After the first few days the BIB will stop enforcing it... Far too hot out there for traffic duty. 3
hotandsticky Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Well, I am going to applaud them for this initiative. If you don't try you will never know and Farangs have been calling for this for the last 18 years to my knowledge.
vangrop Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 I will never rent a guest or hotel room on soi Buakhao. Purely suicidal, lung and throat cancer guaranteed

Especially if you work or live there a one way on Soi Bukow would be dreadfully inconvenient and it would destroy being able to lead a car-free life there........

pomchop Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Talk is easy and cheap. The problem is enforcing the laws/rules. Good luck with that as it will take more than hanging up a few signs to stop people going wrong way on one way streets. Heck they have zebra crosswalks with traffic lights and can;t even get most to stop for that even when full of pedestrians. I can count on one hand the times i have ever seen any cop on soi buahkaow....much easier to stand in front of police station and collect no helmet $$ then back to police dorm for a quick nap. Dream on. 1 1

We all know they will not adhere to laws
