Was you closer to your Mother than your Dad?

This is mostly aimed at older guys but I was talking to a work colleague the other day whose father had just  died  of cancer

He said he was sad but not overly devastated as when his mum died ,in fact hd was still going to work on the same day his dad died .

When his mum died he had 3 months off work ,

Where is your mum & Dad now ?

My parents would be near 100 now if they were alive

It's funny how life goes so quick

I would respectfully disagree Ezzra

and what happened to your scooter  (Ithink it used to be your avatar)

Anyway but to the subject,

As I said in another thread, one of the problem we have as foreigners living in Thailand , the difficulty of the Thai language, and that many Thais don't speak english, if that of communicating our thoughts,

So we come to this forum to chat with other like minded and in similar situations farangs.

IMO not every thought need to be serious, or important, in fact what might be very important to some, might not be as important to others.

So lts be a bit more tolerant.

Especially toward this post

Did not miss my parents as much when they were alive, I think I took the for granted .

Like the earth beneath  your feet.

Now that the are gone I miss both of them dearly, and equally!!

As I get older and going through the same aging process they must had gone through

If I had only one wish granted by a genie, it would be to be able to go back in time, only even for an hour and apologize to my dad for being such an a-hole to him , while I was growing up.

No, but i don't start the day with post that have no value to our everyday lives either, you wanna post something that will attract responses? post an item that have a useful, functional meaning to what we do and how we live...

Apparently you responded to this topic, as well as a few others so far. Bad morning? Take a chill pill, or a beer. Beer works for me.

I would say, a was rather close to both. My father died before I had moved to Thailand, so I guess that hit a little bit harder. My mother became old and weak, after I moved to Thailand and died quite recently in the aftermath of having caught Covid. Anyway, she became over 90 years old, so lived a long life. Had more time to prepare for her death, so did not hit same hard.

This is a place for information and also for diversion.

You know harmless entertainment.

Is the problem that you feel uncomfortable talking about your mother and father?

What do you think Dr. Freud would say about that?

Just to be crystal clear, I'm kidding, so don't get offended.
