A Russian MMA fighter and his brother have had all charges against them dropped, after they were arrested in connection with a violent burglary in north Phuket back in September.

Khusein Askhabov and his twin brother Khasan were arrested on September 3, suspected of being involved in a brutal attack on an Italian national in the Thalang district.

However, the Phuket News reports that the brothers have now been released, with all charges dropped.

And then turn around and charge the victim. Unbelievable.

From the link...

Now the police are going to open a case against the victim for false testimony.

So many questions, but it sounds like the RTP has successfully wrapped up this case.

I'm sure the potential high-value Chinese tourists will love reading about another foreigner being tortured and robbed in Phuket.

This sounds like it may be turning into a fake news event. Nothing to see here.

So if it was a "Brutal" attack the 'victim' would have wounds, so who inflicted them if not the Twins?, and what motive would he have to bring false charges?, did the victim know them at all?, did he know they were about to leave?, when did the twins buy the flight tickets?, seems more questions than answers. I doubt we will ever know what really happened.

You should read the article before asking stupid questions.

The twins have never been accused of being the perpetrators, as they are known to be Kazakhstani, and have left the country the next day.

From the original reporting in September:

Well-known MMA fighter Khusein Askhabov and his twin brother Khasan have been arrested in connection with three Kazakh nationals forcing their way into an Italian man’s villa at a resort in Cherng Talay and holding him bound and gagged while beating him for information in an hours-long ordeal that ended with the three men flying out of Phuket to Dubai after robbing the Italian man of more than B12 million in personal belongings.

It included this photo. Clever of the victim to tie himself up before making the 'false accusations'.

Would seem there's a LOT more to this story than has been reported.

Agreed first he said he had never met them before and then he said he first met them at a beach café a year ago.

So many questions, it will take me some time to get all the answers, be patient!

What are you on?  You need to read the original report.

The twins were not the ones who committed the attack (the three who did left the country rapidly), the twins were alleged (wrongly, it now seems) just to have a connection with the attack, not to be the assailants.
