Have YOU Ever Refused Your Doctor a STOOL SAMPLE, When Asked for One?

Featured Replies

I have never been asked for a stool sample, particularly.

But, if I were asked for one, I would refuse.

What about you?

My thinking is that providing a STOOL SAMPLE is just too personal.

And, here in Thailand, I don't think that most doctors would even know what to do with a stool sample.

There are some things which are over and above the call of DUTY.

And so, I would never agree to such an intrusive test.

Maybe I would give my doctor my fingerprints, if requested.

However, a stool sample is just way beyond what I would agree to do.

What about you?

a.  Would you give your doctor your fingerprints?

b.  Would you give your doctor a stool sample?

And, even if you did provide your doctor with a stool sample, then what would your doctor do with it, anyway?

Most doctors are complete idiots.

Otherwise, why would they ask for a stool sample?

Some doctors, such as proctologists, are obsessed with stools and rectums, and the use of anoscopes, and proctoscopes.

What they do is....

They ask you to get up on a leather piece of furniture with your bum in the air, and then they use this metal proctoscope to probe your innards, as if they were aliens.

I would never trust a proctologist.

Would you?

R you obtuse ?

I am OK with providing DNA samples, to almost anyone I come into contact with.

However, STOOL samples....?

I balk at doing so.

Such a thing seems just to personal, to me.

Also, there is really no need to provide stool samples, when there are better ways to share.

Yes and he is also full of so much cr@p he should be constantly providing such samples!

I have given a stool sample to be analysed for bowel cancer. I took a small sample and put it in a tube, which was then sent to a lab. It wasn't a very pleasant thing to do, but better than having un-diagnosed bowel cancer.

a.  Would you give your doctor your fingerprints?

Doctor/Hospital has my fingerprints if they want them

b.  Would you give your doctor a stool sample?

Doctor has extracted poo from my body.

Why would a doctor ask for fingerprints?

For record keeping procedures.

Less intrusive than a social security number.

Thailand uses your ID number, not social security.

The Australian government send these kits out every 5 years to everyone over 60  for free tests

Are they any good?

I think a colonoscopy is the best way to go

The doctor told me he needed a sperm, urine, stool and blood sample.

I said "Ok, I'll leave my underpants on the counter".

You ask are they any good?

Yes they are quite accurate in diagnosing polyps in the lower bowel...which can change over the years and develop into bowel cancer.

Basically the <deleted> tests save lives...and hardly difficult to do.

The OP will no doubt get cancer and end his days with a bag hanging from his waist....filled with liquid sheet.

Quite the comedian isn't he?

The OP has done his part by making all of us aware of prevention.

Yesterday I went to pick up a test kit from my local medical centre

They informed me to put a sample in and put it in the fridge and bring in in Monday to be tested

Thanks again Gamma for educational topics 👍👍

Remember to label it clearly so that you do not get your stool sample mixed up with your wife's chocolate-cake leftovers.
