Apparently it is the knock sensor, from their message.

Any comments, recommendations etc welcome.

Ask them to read the freeze frame data and post a screen shot of it.

They said they need to investigate why the knock sensor is bad, and it would take 1-2 days to do this.

They look cheap online, less than 1000THB.

What car?

I guess it isn't an emergency fix or die situation, like faulty brakes, and a faulty knock sensor will be okay to drive for a while as we research it.

Cheap job even with genuine parts. Don't buy online almost certain to be cheaper fakes especially in the Land of Scams.

Erm, it's PO328.

I assume this is a Mazda 2 or 3. They go bad frequently and we replace a lot in the UK.

Resistance of the sensor should be 550kohm +/- 30k.  If its high (usually they go over 1Mohm) replace with a genuine Mazda part. The sensor is under the inlet manifold IIRC, so need to remove inlet to replace.
