Drunk man’s responsible decision to use tow service sparks discussion

A young man, after heavy drinking, wisely chose not to drive home due to the potential risk of an accident.

 

Instead, the drunken man opted to call for a Slide service, a tow truck that lifts and transports both the car and its owner back home. This prudent decision has sparked public discussion about the responsible choice to refrain from driving under the influence.

 

The story was shared by Beer Mechanic Sri Thep, a towing service provider, who posted on his page about picking up a client who was too intoxicated to drive.

 

“Another one… before bed. Drunk, not driving…going home with Beer Mechanic. Picked up the car from Silathip, delivered to Chokpaibul Sri Thep Company.

It should spark a discussion about responsibility of all kinds, many of us have seen Thais that simply refuse to take responsibility for problems and disasters that result from their actions. They think somehow they're going to lose face and it will make them lesser men. Of course, we know taking responsibility for one's actions makes you a bigger man. But, the problem is it takes a big man or woman to realize that to begin with. 

 

Kudos to this "big man" for doing the right thing and not putting anyone in danger.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to take a taxi home and come back the next day to pick up your car ? Last time I had to tow my big bike (flat tire at 1am) it cost me 2,500 baht for a 10km drive.

Looks like the car was not delivered home but -

"to Chokpaibul Sri Thep Company," maybe as a more secure place for overnight.

Then a courtesy drop off at the driver's residence by Chokpaibul Sri Thep towing?

I had a neighbour who often drove into town, then sometimes hired 2 motor cycle taxi guys, one to drive him in his car home, the other to follow and take the first guy back. Scary thing was he set himself up for the decision to be made while already well into his cups. Thank heavens for Bolt!
