E-visa Vietnam

Has anyone successfully submitted e-visa application recently on the official site.

I get the 403 message on site I used previously and the same happens when I go to submit application on this one.

I've had no trouble getting an evisa on the site I mentioned

How long ago? - the error message is from the link you posted, returned the same domain xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn.

The same error message is returned from the application button on the new government portal.

Looks to me that the e-visa has gone the same way as the VOA in that you have to deal through an agent. It appears that the government site now requires registration, hence the 403 message, and registration requires a Vietnamese ID number.

Both websites are functioning.

 

My question is what the eVisa entails when it comes to stickers in the passport. Most countries issue a postage stamp-sized sticker on entry and the only additional things are the regular entry and exit stamps?

 

Is the Vietnam eVisa a similarly small sticker or is it a full-page sticker like a regular visa?

The Vietnam e-visa will come by email, it is a single page PDF document that you need to print off and have available on arrival. 

Your passport will only be stamped in and out as normal.

Thanks. I was asking if there was an additional sticker. The Laos eVisa has the postage stamp-sized visa sticker in addition to entry/exit stamps, as does Korea and Malaysia.

 

But if there's no sticker at all for the Vietnam eVisa, even better!

There was nothing other than the entry/exit stamps when I went to Laos last year on E-visa.

There was no sticker last time I went to Malaysia a couple of years ago but I did get one back in 2014. Bit of a surprise as I had been KL the year before and never got one. That was by air, was on the train to Penang when they used  the sticker, it had a tear off tab and left part behind.  I was on last page of passport and they put it right in middle of remaing space causing bit of a problem.

Never been to Korea.

I flew into LP and can't remember an arrival card but could have been. They opened the back doors and we were first off the plane, I was through immigration quicker than my wife.

eVisa entry at Savanakhet late March 2023, small visa 'Entry Permission' sticker + entry and exit stamps.

Apologies, I looked back at my old passports and when I went to Luan Prabang in Jan 23  I did get the same sticker as you show but never noticed. Nothing on previous visits but they were some years prior.

Same with Malaysia last visit was Feb 2020 and certainly no sticker on entry to Vietnam 2 months ago.

There is no sticker for the Vietnam eVisa.  They just put an entry stamp put in your passport.  I just went to Vietnam on an eVisa this month.

Hi, Does anyone know how many days you can stay in Vietnam (American passport holder) with an evisa?  I have read conflicting information on the two types of evisas.  Some say 25$ is 90 days/ single entry.  Some say 25$ is 30 day/ single entry.  While the 50$ visa is meant to be 90 days and multiple entry.  Is the 25$ single entry visa 30 or 90 days?  Thanks.

You can stay up to 90 days. 

When you go into the e-visa application it has the following fees to be paid in step 2 before you enter how long you stay on page 2 of application.  So it should be $25 for single entry 90 days as far as I can tell (I apply in next 2 weeks)

 

 

Edit: US Embassy in Vietnam states the following to confirm what I said above. 

 

E-visas are issued with a validity period of up to 90 days, one-entry for 25 USD or multiple entries for 50 USD,

I have a question as well.

 

The e-visa application valid from/to dates default to 30 days as per pic below, but you can scroll down the page and change the "Intended length of stay"  to 90 days and that automatically changes the prior "visa valid from/to" dates to that 90 day period.

 

 

I'm just wondering if you say you intend to stay 70 days as per your actual flights, will they only issue a 70 day visa as per the valid from/to dates that automatically changed to that 70 day period?

 

Seems silly the application doesn't just say a fixed 90 days validity?

Not sure I follow your question.

There is two options. 

Single entry visa that provides for 30 day stay.

Multi Entry is valid for 90 days.

No need to provide flight dates.

Obviously you use flight to Vietnam as your "grant visa valid from" 

When you then try to enter the "To" date it will only allow 30 day span.

Prompts you to correct field if you type in more than 30 days..

It doesn't work like a METV (for Thailand) 

 

Note for others : only use the link provided in first reply by @ozfarang for eVisa application.

As I said in my post above, if you scroll past the "valid from/to" field and go the the "Information about the Trip" section and in length of stay field you can type in 90 days and the valid from/to dates in prior section automatically change to that 90 day period. 

 

By the way, my Mate did a border hop to Danang but fell in love and stayed. I just spoke to him and he's just done three 90 day single entry visa's in a row. His next one he'll do a 90 day multi because he wants to go away for Christmas.
