Getting a Medical Certificate for Cannabis Use in Thailand
Bit buried on the site How much does a Medicinal Card Consultation cost? Following regulatory updates in June 2025, the price for a consultation has been revised and now ranges from ฿200 to ฿500, depending on the clinic. This significant reduction from our previous pricing makes medicinal cannabis more accessible to Thai patients. This fee encompasses the consultation with a licensed Thai Traditional Medicine doctor, the issuance of a 30-day P.T. 33-compliant prescription, digital card creation, and participation in the Cannabis Card Network with ongoing support. -

Overstayers
While there has always been overstayers - I have a theory on the dregs of what Thailand has let in as of these past few years. There is an increasing exponentially a massive number of rootless, jobless and penniless individuals. UK, EU many of them are possibly on the dole. In the US we generally speaking do not give able bodied white people money to lay about although I've met my fair share of bull<deleted> disability recipients here. The theory: These people are in general lazy and not inclined to follow rules to begin with. In fact many of them are petty criminals. There is little interest to follow the rules and laws of the nation than to keep oneself legal both in reporting and in matters of their visa and/or extensions. They simply don't care I have always walked the borderline between employment and unemployment, freedom and incarceration. This lot arrives and realizes the hassle and cost of staying legal. The decision is that made simply to stay on until they are caught. They will pay a maximum fine of $20,000 b and sent on their way. The penalty of being blacklisted is of no consequence to these individuals because they never have/had any intention of returning anyway. They are probably on a one shot lark to bum around outside their country. If the opportunity were to present itself again which they are inclined not to believe it will they will simply find another country and do something similar. The world is changing -

Right you are. I did it this way at Suan Phlu the first five years or so. Main point being that I have never made a deposit after opening my fixed account, nor gotten a letter on the day of my extension. -- Retiree -
