I think you are correct. Only other choice would be a juvinile golden tree snake. Either way both are non-venomous to humans.

Good job trying to get it into the bottle.  I had a family of golden tree snakes in a house and they always escaped to things with holes in them, like the back of a TV cabinet with holes for wires, into the open ends of the square iron support beams in the roof, etc.  Maybe if it hadn't been a clear bottle, it might have worked.  Clearly the guy knew it wasn't a harmful snake.

It was interrogated but venomously denied accusation of attempted murder. 

I might add even with a plastic bag over his head.
