What a horrible prospect. Thailand is already too busy with half that number—which it isn’t as they count the same people repeatedly visiting as other people. Whatever happened to attracting quality not quantity? Say one thing, do the opposite.

It is all about numbers, and less discerning tourists are easier to entice!

The goal of 40 million international tourists and an ambitious revenue target of 3.5 trillion baht (US$ 98,348,390,000), as set by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, remains a tall order for this year, according to the Tourism and Sports Ministry. Still, the ministry has plans to attract longer stays and increased spending through a range of measures, including soft power products, safety measures, and various events

Drowning tourists, killing them on the roads, and tracking down sunbathers is really going to attract the adventurous bunch.

TAT statements are much easier to predict than the number of real  tourists......

Not TAT. This was Tourism and Sports Ministry

Overmanning and duplication of responsibilities anyone?
