This week Al Israa University became the latest major public building in Gaza to disappear from the map, blown up and destroyed by Israeli forces who had reportedly used it as a military base for several weeks.

The war in Gaza has already let to an unprecedented loss of life, but there's also growing concern about the destruction of public and private buildings.

Now a senior UN official has told BBC News of his fears that the widespread damage will lead to a "lost generation" of young people.

...

Its latest updates say that at least 60% of homes or housing units in Gaza have been "destroyed or damaged". Nine in every 10 schools have suffered "significant damage". Hospitals, public buildings and electricity networks have also been hit.

The UN has spent billions on the development of Gaza.  It would have been good if they had paid attention to where the money was being spent.  Extensive tunnel networks like that require specialist materials and equipment; a regular check on the construction expenditure would have shown disproportionate amounts being spent on 'foundations'.  There is probably less concrete above ground than below it!

UN money is actually audited. The tunnel money mostly came from Qatar with the delivery being escorted by Israeli secret service agents and the full knowledge and complicity of Natanyahu.

Unless you can substantiate your claim with links tho prove that UN funds were diverted into the tunnels then you are peddling propaganda disinformation.

I have provided links previously to show Netanyau's complicity and the source of those funds so don't bother asking

Can you provide a link to those claims that most of the money for tunnels came from Qatar?

The donated money to the UN in Gaza, the UN's largest agency there is the UNRWA who runs schools, donates to Hamas hospitals and health care authority, health centers etc. How much does Hamas audit that money? Have you seen the tunnels under hospitals etc?

As usual you do an edit after I already replied, no you have never supplied a link to this latest claim of yours.

I said I'd already provided links that Netanyahu assisted in funneling money from Qatar to Hamas for at least 14 years.

Once more. You claimed  the tunnel money came mostly from Qatar."

Once more. You have never provided a link to that claim. Want to go for it now?

I would be happy to read any and all of the links you refer to, less happy to try and find them with no prior knowledge of them. If you wish to educate me it would simpler for you to post the links as you know what and where they are.

I have posted them. That's all you need to know. I get sick of people harassing over links that have long since been posted.

Additionally, the subject I referenced is not obscure. It would be easy to validate what I claimed.

You do this (asking for old links) on a regular basis.

Unbelievable.

Denying that I have posted them? You are either harassing me or it's proof that you don't read anything that criticizes Israel.

But just to placate you, I have previously posted this article.

Your claim:

That link in no way supports your claim

I said that UN money is audited. I assume the money from Qatar was not. It is reasonable to assume that the bulk of the money came from the money intended to help Hamas militarily. You are pearl clutching.

Oh so changing goal posts now, instead of making as a claim as before its now you assume, well you have no evidence for that assumption

Who paid for all the tunnels before it had anything to do with Netanyahu after he was asked to facilitate the cash transfers from Qatar. The tunnels have been around for years, they did not start getting built in 2018.

Now try to assume where all the money that Iran donated and all the money made on Hamas's other deals and fraud including misappropriating funds from UN.

Hamas terror tunnels were built with your money

It is an incredibly sophisticated system, as I saw when I went deep down into the tunnel. It is more like a subway system than a rat run. Although plenty of rats came this way.

So why do I say that American taxpayers can save money here?

Because our tax dollars helped build this system. It is American, European, and other taxpayer dollars that went into building this terrorist infrastructure.

The US Defense Department is audited.

The Pentagon can't account for 63% of nearly $4 trillion in assets.

whataboutery.

Are you trying to insinuate that none of the money from Qatar which was delivered by Netanyahu's henchmen was used to build the tunnels?

Lost generation huh. Teaching children to hate. Training them with vids and classes on how to kill Jews when they grow up. Cheering on the hate!

This is how the Palestinians have lost their children.

You justify IDF soldiers shooting children because they hated Israelis? You justify dropping 2,000 pound bombs on apartment blocks because they hate Israelis?

Yes, most Hamas do hate Israelis. The feeling is mutual. Time to start talking and less engendering of even more hatred. For now, a plurality of both sides wants a peaceful solution to this war that doesn't involve the eradication of the other side.

Don't put words in my mouth. Oh I forgot to add in my post. They sleep in the bed they make. You can quote me on that!

Exactly! The links have long since been posted, and therefore difficult to locate. If you so strongly believe in their veracity post them again for everyone's enlightenment. UN expenditure may very well be audited, but I suggested/speculated it may not have been properly accounted for. As it seems the construction of such an extensive network of tunnels would require huge volumes of concrete I suggested a survey of amounts of concrete used compared to above ground construction may prove enlightening.

I have no intention of harassing you over links long since posted, simply a desire to be more widely informed. The choice is yours.

@ozimoron

No, that would be you deflecting.

The point made was that while large organizations may be audited, it does not imply they can account for all funds.

You brought up some bogus comment about 'insinuate' which was not part of the post.

It's what you do.

@ozimoron

There was nothing in the post your replied to about IDF, justification or the rest of your contrived 'outrage'.

It is not only Hamas that hates Israelis. And Hamas is not into talking much, at least about nothing realistic.

notably, your calls for talk, ceasefire and so on are directed at only one of the sides.

Fancy that.

Best way to get a fresh new start for anything is to “wipe” it clean and build/breed again from scratch.

100% percent behind Israel on this.

Which of these 2 numbers is larger than the other do you think?

1. UNHCR assistance for humanitarian causes provided by voluntary donor nations.

2. Qatari funds designed to help Hamas build itself into a military force?

By how much? At a guess?

Bonus question. Which is most likely to be audited? 1 or 2?
