webfact
A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 33 year old man in Phuket early this morning after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed. Police and emergency services rushed to the scene, where they discovered the victim had suffered fatal head injuries. Before dawn today, a sharp curve on a road in Phuket turned into the scene of a fatal accident when a motorcyclist, identified as Sutthisak (last name withheld), crashed his Honda Wave I motorcycle. The incident occurred around 5am near Wat Khatu in the Khatu district of Phuket province. Upon their arrival at the site, police and rescue volunteers found Sutthisak’s lifeless body lying in the middle of the road, with a severely fractured skull and profuse bleeding. The motorcycle was found approximately 50 metres away, lying on its side with significant damage. Early findings suggest that the rider was travelling at high speed and failed to navigate the curve, leading to the devastating crash, reported KhaoSod. by Nattapong Westwood Picture courtesy of KhaoSod Full story: The Thaiger 2024-02-01 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post KhunBENQ
Sad but "just another one" of up to 50 per day. Only as it happens at a "news hotspot" like Phuket, it's worth a headline. At the age of 33 one should know what you can do with a small bike like a Wave. No helmet 99%. Come off a bike at 80kmh and the speed will be high enough for you to never forget that incident !!!! 1 1

stargrazer9889
In Hua Hin I see many Thais and a lot of foreign bike riders with no helmets. Shattered skulls will continue to happen. Oh well, This Is thailand. Have a great holiday, and be safe. 1

As written easy up to 80 km/h and a bit more. And if riding a two wheeler it needs no high speed to kill you. Lamp posts, concrete(!) guide posts... Bang your head and neck broken. Some people have irrational ideas about speed. Think they can cushion a frontal crash at 30 km/h in the car with their arms. No belt needed. No belt needed. Yes, you are right. My comment was about the usage of the term high speed. Personally, I wouldn't use that for maybe anything under 130km/h or something like that. But yes, it's possible to get killed with 30km/h - even if that is not high speed.

Photoguy21
Sad that he went in this manner but how are they always "losing control" of the bike? Presumably they are riding at speeds far in excess of what they are capable of. So whilst endings like this are terrible stupidity plays a major part in their occurrence.
