Conspicuously missing was Ukraine at a whopping $4,xxx, never exceeding $5,000 per capita.  Meaning that Ukes that live in the newly Russified areas are likely to see their standard of living rise once the killing stops and the rebuilding begins.

Ukraine was knowingly excluded as it is not part of the EU. I thought anyone would have understood my point, which is that countries which have left Soviet and Russia's orbit are doing much better than Russia.

This is an obvious proof of Putin's failure (on top of it, the majority of Russia's GDP is natural resources and oil). In particular, it explains why Putin is enraged at Baltic States.

Agree. The condition for the interview was that it would make Putin look good

Do any of your heroes give interviews that they think will make them look bad?

And you obviously believe the western and USA media propaganda line.

What you and other Putin trolls don’t seem to accept is that the hundred million plus people who actually live in the swath of territory between the Baltic and the Balkans have their own agency. They had all, at some point in history, been oppressed by Russian imperialism, and given a brief window of Russian dormancy in the 1990s, they clamored to join Western institutions, primarily the EU and NATO, as they saw that their best future was there. Did the US and western Europe encourage them? Sure, if they qualified for membership, and for some it took longer than others, but it was entirely at the initiative of the applicant countries, who sought security against future Russian revanchism (and rightly so, as it turns out).

Try reading some history, and some actual news reportage out of Ukraine and elsewhere in eastern Europe. Clearly your sources of information are leading you down the wrong rabbit hole.

How is it a problem for Russia? They have a lot more solders to lose and a lot more money to spend.

China is not on the list either, but Russia's per capita GDP is higher. Does that mean Russia is stronger than China?

As I replied in another pist, it shows that leaving Russia's orbit is beneficial.

China was not a subject of the Soviet Union. But as you mention it, what do you think of the comparison between China's teconomic development and  Russia's development? It also shows Putin failures to develop his country.

Carlson was seriously out of his league, if he even knows what his league is (besides Donald Trump).

Great interview. CNN was complaining they missed out. Well done Tucker.

Putin just confirmed what I knew. He wants Ukraine only. Resources. Same as Iraq war was about resources not WMD. Only the sheep bought the WMD lies.

I’m not sure where you’re coming from here, but you seem to be saying, if a country wants their neighbor’s resources, you’re cool with that country stealing them, while slaughtering people who stand in their way and laying waste to their towns and cities. Sounds pretty medieval to me. Remind me never to be your neighbor.

Strange posting from you. I never said wars are good. Inventing your own weird theory. Remind me never to live next to people who make up weird theories about others.

I don't have heroes.

To reply more precisely, a Republican interviewed by CNN or a Dem interviewed by Fox News would not fall into the same category as Putin interviewed by Carlson.

Biden is your hero

I don't desagree with you on this point. Putin may not have invaded Ukraine if it were a resource-poor country (although population itself is enough of a resource for Russia).

I have no hero. Biden has been useful at beating Trump, implementing rational and efficient policies. It could be anyone else, I don't care (except the Kennedy nutter). Could there be a better choice for 2024? Maybe. But for the time being It's Biden vs Trump.

You praised the interview, you congratulated Tucker Carlson, you evidently believe Putin’s statements (by saying that he “confirmed” what you already “knew”), and you say that Putin “only” wants Ukraine as though that were a positive thing. If you truly dislike wars, you should condemn Putin as a liar, a demagogue, and a warmonger rather than praise interviews that he grants to fanboys.

Letting your interviewee give his statements unquestioned is not an interview, it's propaganda.

Great interview. Let the person speak. Don't interrupt every 5 seconds like CNN clowns do. That's what an interview is all about. Why podcasts have taken over from tv.

Heroes go into interviews expecting to be fully challenged in justifying their position. Nothing that can't be raised. Tough follow ups. This isn't that.

I think the bipartisan bill would have been a notable improvement.

Interviews are not supposed to be arguments. Shut up and let the guest speak. You don't have to agree. That'd why CNN can't get any good interviews. Nobody wants to talk to morons.

Nothing much gained in hearing the same old stuff. Staying quiet when the person says things you think are not correct is letting the person make a speech not an interview. In a country with such limited freedoms in elections and the press, for example,  surely you need to go a bit hard when talking to the leader. Without necessarily being rude and shutting them down. There's ways to do things.
