Tucker Carlson: Putin takes charge as TV host gives free rein to Kremlin

One of the few times in my life I wished my grandparents taught me Russian.  Because I don't know if Putin is a blithering idiot with an amazing translator.  Somehow, I doubt it.  But it would take a Russian speaker to know for sure.  And a lot of listening and parsing.

BTW, Russian was only spoken in our house when the grandparents didn't want us to know what they were saying.  They encouraged us to take Spanish or French in high school, because they wanted us to be Americans.  Not Russkie transplants.

Doubt Putin is an idiot. Would have been killed long ago.

Kamala still walks among us...  She's just got excellent security.  Probably similar to Vlad the Hammer.  I haven't heard that one in Eons.

US society is soft and weak. Russia isn't.

Have you researched what Russia was doing at the same time? I bet that you haven’t 😊

Live with Uncle Joe? Seems he’s living with you… rent free, inside your head.
It’s a sickness. Get rid of it and try to find normal.
I don’t have a dog in the fight, so I can look at all sides impartially. You cannot. You cannot see the forest but for all the trees in the way.

Whilst you are here… could you please tell me when the war with Russia started, so I can focus on the timeframe to which you refer?

Go watch some Bobby Kennedy interviews.. he spells out the time frames for all the CIA dirty work in Ukraine.

Including USA funding to overthrow the government and replace it with another USA ally.

Then go check out the MINSK treaty...

As a whole, maybe.  But I'd put some of my neighbors on Galveston Island (Texas) up against workers, providers, and fighters from anywhere.  Not me.  I'm a wienie.  But some of my neighbors (mostly retired now) have seen it all and done most of it.

What I love about interviews with RFK Jr, MacGregor, Ritter, and others is that they bring the receipts.  And even if I disagree with their analysis, they point to the evidence that I can check on my own.  But that requires going outside of "approved sources".

Edit:  I'd add Vivek to that list.  I still haven't figured out if he's for real.  But he does bring the receipts.

His source is tainted so no he cannot answer you... the source has taken unbridled liberty in defining what constitutes an invasion... and it is incorrect in doing so... for instance it lists Vietnam as an invasion when in actuality the USA was invited by S Vietnam to help them repel the invasion from the north... hardly an invasion.

Correct....👍

If not already answered ... WMD, weapons of mass destruction.   Chemical and biological warfare agents.   Some of them extremely nasty and extremely deadly, like, Sarin, VX, the atomic bomb and that other more bigger bomb.

Yes, I do know that, but my point was, in relation to the thread...😉

I think it is sad that so many people, including many journalists and politicians, are against such an interview. Why?

Don't you want to hear Putin's point of view?

Some people say he lies. Of course he does, just like politicians all over the word.

And it seems sometimes he tells the truth, the part which western media and western politicians don't want to hear.

Oh! on re-reading your post, I see it is your incomprehensible dribble, masquerading as writing, that  is misleading. It seems what you meant to say was 'Russians (parachuted) into east Ukraine were not ethnic Ukrainians'. I do not dispute this totally obvious, tautological observation. The result of your lack of clarity is that all meaning was lost, so buck up and learn to communicate.

The Soviet era has long gone, so are you saying that anyone under the age of 30 or so now, no longer speaks Russian? How about bilinguals, how its their ethnicity determined by you?

If Stalin parachuted Russians into Ukraine, didn't they already speak Russian, and so were of Russian ethnicity? If they have lived in Ukraine since Stalin 'parachuted' them in, is it ok for ethnic Ukrainian nazis to kill them now? Don't bother trying to explain, I'm simply parroting you in being an irritation to decent people.

Regards my nom-de-plume, it was never meant to have anything to do with gladiators. It is my own coined original name that I have used for about 25 to 30 years or so on many sites, so your 'gotcha' falls on deaf ears. And don't imagine that looking it up on Google impressed me with your knowledge of Latin, or was original in any way. I studied classics and know what a retiarius is, as well as what gladiatrices, rudiarii and secutori are, so go ahead and look them up.

Your childish insults are as childish as your inaccurate writing, but less irritating. Usually negative commenters say 'it should be retardius' as their riposte, which is, at least, humorous, and not pedantic. But you, of course, as a pedant, are not that witty or clever. Why don't you spend an hour combing through this post for a spelling mistake? What a boring life you must have!

A few misconceptions in your post:

As a speed reader, I don't need an hour to look for spelling mistakes. There are none, bravo. Unless I want to substitute commentators for commenters.

I don't need to Google Latin terms, I was taught the language by an authority on the subject.

I am saying Ukrainians are a different ethnicity to Russians, on the basis of their language, alphabet, and culture. The Russians in the Donbas are ethnic to Russia, not Ukraine.

Switzerland has 4 different languages. It's no surprise Ukraine would be bilingual, given the proximity.

The Ukrainians are no more Nazis than you or me. That is one of Putin's lies.

History shows the Germans were greeted as liberators in WW II. Kiev surrendered without firing a shot. The Ukrainians soon learned the Nazis were no different to the Russians in terms of oppression.

Who calls the Croatians Nazis nowadays? They welded themselves to the German side far more steadfastly.

It makes sense for Ukrainians, who are fighting for national survival, to be tough on Russian quislings in the Donbas. Going from there to genocide is rank bullsh!t.

Si tacuisses, philosophus mansisses.

Nice try at deflection.

Now…Whilst you are here… could you please tell me when the war with Russia started, so I can focus on the timeframe to which you refer?

I already know about all of the things to which you refer. I’m waiting to have a discussion with you about them 😌

But of course I will be asking you questions about what the other side was doing at the time. So I hope you’ve brushed up on that.
You weren’t just looking negatively on one side without looking at the other side of the equation… were you?

Let me know when you are ready to discuss.
Start by letting me know your timeframe for the war with Russia starting and we can go from there.

What are people falling for? Most people don't care about Russia, Ukraine or Biden/Trump much at all.

I rarely hear anyone taking about these things. Stood next to some Americans waiting in line and their convetsation was about lunch and what they did last week.

Most people do. You probably rarely hear criticism of Trump due to your choice of media outlet.

I'm taking about people having conversations not media. Maybe learn to read.

Yes. Putin is a nasty dictator & murderer. But - as anyone who has ever watched him speak 'off the cuff' knows - he has brainpower, fluency, humour, knowledge and experience that allow him to dance rings around any Western 'leader' or up-himself would-be journalist.

Many of us thought he was smart, until he invaded Ukraine, and he then demonstrated to us how modest his intelligent really is. He did not get where he is on wits alone, he got to where he is based on his level of viciousness, cunning, cheating, lying, stealing, blackmailing, serial killing and Kompramat.

Carlson was completely out of his league.

1. He is not a journalist.

2. He's not really interested in truth.

3. He seems to be sympathetic toward Putin and awed by him, which is not a particularly good position for an interviewer to be in.

So why didn't the "good" journalists get the interview?

Because he gave the mass murder Putin a platform to spew lies. Not bitter.

Remind again of how many people Obama killed with all his bombings.  It was a hell of a lot.  Yet for some reason Obama is untouchable on this fact.

Obama was a killer and bad for the poor in his own country. Rich black guy who cared nothing for the poor.

Putin essentially gave the same "campaign speech" he's been giving for the past 25 years. He only impressed people because he is being compared to two of the most inept and mentally incompetent US presidential candidates in history. Most every American president I can think of, beginning with TR and going through Wilson, Hoover, FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, and Clinton could have held forth just as articulately as Putin and with even better command of the facts and truth. The problem is that US presidential expectations have completely bottomed out since GWBush.

Some interesting chatter in the right wing conspiracy blogs about Tucker's interview with Assange at Belmarsh that he apparently hasn't posted yet, and how the Putin interview may have provided some missing puzzle pieces for the whole Deep State conspiracy realm.

It may get interesting, or may be a nothing burger.  But usually entertaining.

What are the upsides for a wanted war criminal answering questions real journalists would ask? Besides the smirk the autocrat would give as he locks them up, it seems like a loose-loose for both sides does it not? So only chumps like Tucker can sell this farce to his blind followers.

Russia has a population collapse in the twenties, America is growing.

Do some research, it may stop you from posting daft opinions.

Of course they were rejected. Why would Putin want reporters lobbing hardball questions at him?

CNN are lightweights with low ratings.
