NOR USD ones, just 2 holes punched thru the page with ur photo on it> ( cancelled in oct 2023) 
just checked old ones and only the one issued in 86 and the one issued in 90 were stamped cancelled, holes punched and the edges of the page were cut as above

That is an incorrect response to what was asked. If you get a new passport in country the passport will be blank and you would need to get an entry stamp before applying for a first extension.

In 2014 I got a new passport via VFS which was blank and immigration put a stamp in my passport that indicated previous passport number, along with how and when I entered the country. They indicated I had entered by air and put a Savarnabhumi entry stamp alongside the large stamp, although I had entered by train via Padang Besar. That was then followed by the new extension stamp, there was no transfer of stamps per se, not even the under consideration stamp that applied to the new extension.

Recently I entered on new passport from UK and having an entry stamp marked Non O in the passport there was no need for immigration to say how and when I had entered. I only have an entry stamp, under consideration stamp and extension stamp, nothing else.

The OP was asking about coming back from the UK and I can only relate my experience, I wouldn't be aware of what some other offices may choose to do.

I responded to the OP who was aking about entering on a new passport. I have renewed my passport both ways and there is a significant difference between holding a blank passport and one with an entry stamp.

Hi everyone....just a quick update on this topic...I have re-entered Thailand with my new UK passport together with my old passport containing retirement visa and re- entry visa.....all good came through immigration no problems and received my 90 day stamp in the new passport. I will nip down to Jomtien immigration in a few days to ask about the subject:  if I need to transfer any stamps etc from my old passport just to get clarification on the matter.....Much appreciated all the answers you all gave to my original post....thank you

of course needs items transferred and its done for free
it will state where/when ur VISA,  (also showing from where u entered Thailand)   & extension was issued and and a note stating it was in passport #  2334545   no rush on that stuff

dont forget to get a new tm 30  within 24 hours!!

What do you actually have. 

You mention 90 day stamp.

At a guess seems that you have  multiple entry Non O valid for one year.

Not an extension along with a reentry permit? 

If you indeed have a multiple entry non O read first reply from Tod Daniels in this thread.

As per the post above, your entry makes no sense.

 

90 day entry would assume a multi-entry Non-O, and therefore no need for a re-entry permit.

 

Can't be a new Non-O as you would not have been able to purchase a re-entry permit.

 

Can't be an old Non-O as you would not be entitled to a 90 day entry, only the remaining days.

 

What do you actually have ?

According to his first post, he has an extension of stay valid until Jan 31st 2025.

OP is confused, probably just counting Oct to Jan as 90 days.

He should have received an entry permit, permitting him to stay until 31st Jan.

Transferring stamps is an easy process.
Take both old and new passports.

They'll stamp details of your old passport (edited), the first entry on a Non O into Thailand, and the latest entry.
