... WMD

... economic collapse (bail outs)

... MMCD, melting ice caps (still waiting)

... rising seas (elite & politician live where ? )

There was a pandemic ? :coffee1:

That's why the beaches were empty during high season.

well the "authorities" did mandate the closure of beaches etc at certain times during the "pandemic"

I prefer to call it the Covidiocy period.

That was only for the first month, first week of April 2020, I think, when everything was suppose to be shut down.  We went O&A anyway, as there was no enforcement, that we noticed where we are or went.  Just looked at my timeline, and we went to Chumphon April 9, 2020.

Hotels were a bit hard to find open, so we didn't go far the first month.  After that, most place ignored  the 'no travel/stay closed' advise, except for the major inter'l tourist areas.

Local surfside shops all closed, and stayed closed, as they catered to vacationers, mostly Thai actually, but they were obeying the 'no travel advise'.

One street over, running parallel, and all normal, after first week, as that's where the locals shop & ate.  Too funny actually, as remember others on formal complaining what's closed in there area, or crying about others being out and not shuttering in.   And I was thinking after the first week, all was normal.

That said, I wouldn't know where to get a haircut anyway, as been cutting my own for about 15 yrs.   Yep, back on topic.

I was (am) in the major tourist area of Pattaya/Jomtien, the lock downs where quite harsh at times..everything closed except a small portion of large department stores allowed  to sell food ,not alcohol, not clothes or shoes, not washing machines or Tv's,to get in/out of the area persons had to show papers at checkpoints

of course McDonald's, pizza plazas and other "junk food" continued via home delivery  whilst the parks beaches and gyms where firmly shut one may think there was some kind of agenda ?

to be on topic the barber and beuty shops where also ordered to close during this crazy time.

What's the next topic? Is water wet?

I dry mine so it will not go bad. Then when you need it, you just mix it with water and you are good to go.

Using the OP's analogy, he hasn't been to a dentist since covid, is he British? 555. jk.

Your insight is just so very valid.

How did you know?

I do need to get me to the dentist!

I need an extraction and an implant....PDQ.

Here in Thailand, dentistry is both excellent and extremely affordable.

My only issue is that I fear the fear of dentistry.

I do NOT fear my dentist, but only fear the fear of her.

My dentist is EXCELLENT!

Probably one of the best dentists in all of Thailand.

I cannot mention which one, or which dental practice she owns....

I am sure that you understand why.....

And you keep spouting forth on AN from yours!

One, of many, reasons I posted this Topic, today, Sir, was just to make your day.

Here I am...enduring the trials of Job.

And I did not wish to waste my hardship.

I knew that news of my trials and tribulations with the two parasites might improve your day.

So, basically, this Topic is a dark cloud for me, which must have a silver lining or YOU!

This is my way of saying, Thank You, to you for your steadfast moral support during my time posting on the Farang Pub.

Best to you, Sir!

And, I mean this most sincerely, and not facetiously, either!

There is a good old Aussie expression. " If bullsh!t was music, you'd be a brass band".

Ever since I used the light simile, posters have seized on it to belabor me. The nastier ones are on my ignore list.

In a health event about two months ago, I was in a Thai hospital for two days.

My GF slept on the floor next to my bed for two nights, to care for me. Her family ferried food in, as the hospital food was definitely not what I am used to.

As you say, one can't beat that kind of relationship.

Lux perpetua luceat eis.

Your comment of yore, in my opinion, was just good fun.

Therefore, just take all comments, good or bad, in stride.

And....

Carry on!

It never pays to be overly-sensitive when posting on the Farang Pub.

(counterproductive, in fact)

It doesn't pay to be a doormat to people who are bitter and twisted either.

I recall posting several times I don't suffer fools gladly.

Are you saying that our Fellow TV Members are doormats, or dormice?

I can not abide such talk!

Once they announced that they all had to close down I bought a shaver from Lazada there was no way I could go months without an hair cut, My wife does it for me and still does but I might have to buy a new shaver soon it's not holding it's charge,

The other thing is I stopped going to the bar every day, Bad habit, I still have a drink at home but only one bottle, not 6 bottles,

My wife likes I spend more time with her and we go out once or twice a week for something to eat, find some new places to go, have a few beers and my wife drives so everybody happy,

Yes, I bought a hair clipper, and my wife does my hair every few weeks (No 1) I like short hair since it is hot in Western Australia as well, I never go to bars even when I am in Thailand, I just have a few glasses of red wine at home.
