PM hopes to meet Thaksin in Chiang Mai

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said today that he may have an opportunity to meet former prime minister Thaksin in Chiang Mai, when he visits the province tomorrow.

 

He said, however, that no appointment has been made to meet Thaksin, who began his own three-day home-coming visit today after 17 years of living in exile abroad.

 

Srettha said that it is normal that many people, including officials and politicians, showed up today to welcome Thaksin, because he was prime minister for many years and has been away from his hometown for 17 years.
