webfact
A tragic incident occurred yesterday at the Bang Kapi station of Bangkok’s Yellow Line Skytrain, where an unidentified man fell to his death. Witnesses described the heart-wrenching scene as the man, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, climbed over the station’s second-floor barrier before plummeting to the footpath below. Emergency services, including forensic doctors from the Police General Hospital and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, were dispatched to the scene following the report to Lat Phrao Police Station. Despite immediate life-saving attempts, including CPR, the man’s life could not be saved, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial inquiries by onlookers revealed that the individual had ascended to the second level of the Bang Kapi station, where he then scaled the fence and jumped. The motive for this tragic action remains unknown. Police are presently working to identify the man, with no personal documents found on his person at the time. They are conducting fingerprint analysis and reviewing CCTV footage from the area to assist in their investigation, reported KhaoSod. Efforts are also underway to locate any relatives of the deceased. The body has since been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for further examination. In related news, a tragic incident occurred at Khu Khot Skytrain station when a Taiwanese man fell from the platform onto the street below, causing shock among the local community and prompting authorities to review CCTV footage to determine the cause of the event. Residents and taxi drivers waiting for passengers near Khu Khot Skytrain station were left in a state of shock when a 46 year old man, Wu Lian Sheng, of Taiwanese nationality, wearing a white shirt and blue trousers, fell from the station platform. He was found severely injured on the road below, lying motionless. by Nattapong Westwood Picture courtesy of Thainews Online Source: The Thaiger 2024-04-03 - Discover how Cigna Insurance can protect you with a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment. Korat Kiwi
Why do they (in the related news story this time) go into so much detail as to what the victim is wearing? It's not as if they are going to appear as a Victoria's Secret model in the next hour or two. Strange practice by the media. 2

I could understand it in relation to the man as yet unidentified as it could assist in identification, but for Wu Lian Sheng it makes no sense. I’m surprised they didn’t describe the weather at the time. 1

spidermike007
It doesn't sound like a fall to me, it sounds like suicide, certainly what he did was incredibly reckless, but it sounds like the guy was trying to kill himself. Why are they giving us a description of what the other guy was wearing, what does that mean, and why is that relevant?

Especially when they pixilate it out in a related photo. You just have to shake your head at the mentality.

Photoguy21
The guy "climbed over the station’s second-floor barrier" and ended up dead. How stupid can you get. A barrier is there for a reason, not as a means to exercise.
