Freshly boiled water for me. I find the foam from the steradent clogs the pores in the teabags, hindering the circulation of liquid essential to a good brew. It also makes the tea taste funny!

Sadly, Paul Phillips AKA Nookiebear, passed away unexpectedly on Monday 30 September 2024.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this most difficult time.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration.

The food delivery service is now discontinued, but food can still be purchased locally in person,

by arrangement at Bon's house in Sakut. Please phone in advance prior to turning up unannounced,

to ensure someone will be there to meet you, thus avoiding disappointment, and a wasted journey.

I'm a Tetley's extra strong builder's tea lover, tried all the others, but nothing else will do for me. got it as a favourite on Lazada, comes up now and again as slightly damage box, around 300baht delivered, 80 in a box.

Tetley is nice but really stains your teeth

I've got a full set of dentures, the plastic type and even with a daily clean the pink gum parts do brown up a bit, not visible except when I take them out to clean or when scaring her families toddlers, the kids love that , lol.

I use Polident tablets because they are available from our local Pharmacy.

Sadly missed. Good man.

I ordered some Tata Gold on Lemonjelly's reccommendation. It was around 170 baht for 500gms on lazada. I also got some (Empty) tea bags. No need for a teapot. The tea's delicious.

Tea bags from Mr DIY? is Tata Gold better than Typhoo or Tetley?

Empty teabags, with a drawstring. Put 2 tsp of loose tea inside the bag and pull the drawstring = 1 teabag.

I found them on Lazada, 19 baht for 100.

Better than Tetley or Typhoo? About the same colour, with a slightly different taste.

I've found it very drinkable

Quick update. I tried the 7 x 9 teabag. There's more room for the leaves to brew, resulting in a stronger flavour.

My gran used to take her dental plate out before pouring some of her hot cup of milk-and-sugarred Nambarrie into the saucer and sipping it noisily through her pursed lips.

She would always forget where she left her plate as well.

I am looking for an English Breakfast type tea and could not find any amongst the Twinnings selection

I see many multiple offerings of Twinnings English Breakfast on Shoppee, both loose and tea bags...

I have a question for Brits who grew up drinking Tetley and/or Typhoo.

I strongly prefer Twinnings over Tetley or Typhoo. To me it just tastes much better.

What is your personal preference? And, equally interesting to me, what is the general perception of these three brands (in terms of quality) in Britain?

MY parents drank Typhoo, I drink Typhoo.

But currently also drinking Tata Gold, which also tastes like Typhoo.

Tata Gold, loose leaf black fermented tea, 180bht for 500gm, empty tea bags 15bht for 100, works out at less than 200bht for around 150 tea bags.

I only drink Roiboos, and Oolong tea.

Both easily found in Thai supermarkets.

My father was crazy about Typhoo as well.

121 years of corporate history down the drain due to environmental terrorists. I don't know why governments are so soft on "activists".

They're careful of course to committ low punishment crimes like property destruction and trespass, but parliament could pass laws that make such activist crimes aggravated offiences.

Off topic,

Not sure 24 million pounds in damage is that trivial an offence!

I drink Typhoo one cup, Tetley is better but worse for staining your teeth. Twinnings I've not tried, maybe 3x the price of Typhoo, 110 baht for 100

Going back more than 15 years Twinings was always considered a slightly more premium brand (to me anyhow) with pricing to match.

I used to prefer Typhoo but the last couple of years moved to Taylors Yorkshire tea bags which currently are available in Big C  Extra in Pattaya - I usually pay friends to bring out for me when possible.

The other big UK brand is/used to be PG Tips.
