Brian it is time for your nap.

Bill it's time you woke up, And it's time you read the link that says if you declare it and show prove where it came from then it should not be a problem.

I was tugged at Gatwick last month by Customs (randomly for sure)

Do you have more than £1000 on you was the 5th question (45,000 Baht)

Expand

I got pulled over a few times in the 90's and was asked that question. Under GBP1000 no further questions, any amount over that and they start questioning the source and proof.

All irrelevant to the OP that is asking about taking cash out of Thailand.

He exits Thailand still intact with his cash and what then floats around in Cyberspace for the next 20 years  ??

He's got to "land" the money somewhere so  its completely relevant !

Whats relevant is:

The OP is carrying THB (OP wrote in the title THE assumed to be THB and far from USD)

The destination is is important and the Thai currency control regulations are important.

Some nearby destinations to Thailand the OP can take upto 500000THB, any other destination and 50000THB is the limit, that is the law.

You've deliberately taken out of context what I responded to Liverpool Lou

He did not state what currency he wants to take with him. But what normal person will want to take 500 k thai money to another country with him? It is definitely US dollars.

Keep it real, your imagination is running wild, only the biggest money launderers/criminals will have U$500k in cash on them

Money was sent from home originally via swift. Due to the timing I was unable to get other docs for scb. Even though the money is not earned from working here.

Checking online other posters are right can only take 50000 thb in currency out. If it was usd higher amounts.

Thanks for replies
