I have lived on the islands for 20 years there is no way would I live on Koh Tao   I’ve been there three time by ferry with a return ticket the following day a one night stay is more than enough as far as I am concerned

why, what could you possibly get to understand about an island by staying 1 day?

Aussies cope just fine on Koh Tao.

You have never been there have you?

where on earth do you get the you info from or is it just made up?

I lived on Samui for many years and spent some time on Dark Tao. This was very commonly known news, it got to the point where the headman of Sairee had to force his son to leave the country for a while, as the pressure was getting to be too much. Everybody knew what was going on including the cops, who they owned.

Over the years there have been a lot more thanks to social media it’s hard to bury bad news !

Back in the days before social media things were a lot easier for the RTP franchisees. Now that the word gets around to the extent that it does their jobs have become a lot more complicated, and some crimes just can't be covered up. Thankfully.

People are saying more than likely an 'accident' this island seems to have more than the average fair share of 'accidents' in comparison to other provinces and Islands in this country.

Natural causes possibly suicide case closed, next!  RIP though fella sad end to a young life

Just noticed reported happened March 18th, probably go fund me appeal on now!

Safe to assume that the girlfriend had to negotiate the terms of the financial deal with The Mirror that published her story.

Died March 18th. And being reported April 14th.
Any good reason for the information being suppressed for nearly a month?

Financial negotiations for the story with The Mirror, probably.  No suggestion that the story was "suppressed".

Almost a month later and no cause of death, autopsy results, or even a blood test?

How do you know that?   Not everything is reported to the dregs of the media.

Others at the same event were seen inhaling nitrous oxide, or hippy crack, and there was a raucous drag performance, with drunken tourists joining in dancing provocatively.

Oh what a lovely night out.

So the guy goes missing on 18 March and NO ONE reports it ?
Not even his girlfriend ?

He was found in the morning, just a few hours after a night of being seriously on the piss.

Why didn't this make the news - until nearly a month later ?

Maybe she has only just sobered up.  :coffee1:

From the linked article:

Thai police said they are waiting for the post-mortem results.

Generally, I get suspicious when they withhold details like cause of death and autopsy results.  Even a preliminary report of any injuries they found.  A month later, it's almost as if they don't want the public to know that (much less how) the guest died on their island.
