Economy Thai Citizens Demand Government Action as Inflation Skyrockets
It's interesting that, when inflation is above target and rising, in most countries the central bank will raise interest rates to dampen the economy. One notable exception in recent years has been Turkey, where the strongman in charge firmly believed that high interest rates are a root cause of inflation. That didn't work out well for them so a new central bank governor started to increase rates, and it has had some effect on cooling rising prices. Is Thailand going to go down the Turkish path? Because if so, then the poor citizenry ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to inflation. -

What is up with tattoos and tourists / expats here?
Employers didn't tolerate tattoos back in the day. You wouldn't get hired. 2009 is still a fairly long time ago. Not sure exactly when they started becoming in fashion. Now employers tolerate them. So because people are allowed tattoos in the workplace, they have them. My IT guy at the last place I worked had a bunch of tattoos. So your theory is outdated. You people are dinosaurs who have not adapted your beliefs to the changes in society. SOME people with tattoos are low-lifes yet. You need to pick up the vibe from the person, not the tattoos. Please stop judging all people with tattoos. -

Canadian PM Says He’s Glad Trump Couldn’t Read His Mind in Oval Office
Canadian PM Says He’s Glad Trump Couldn’t Read His Mind in Oval Office https://www.thedailybeast.com/canadian-pm-says-hes-glad-trump-couldnt-read-his-mind-in-oval-office/ "Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney seemed to admit that he was seething in the Oval Office Tuesday as President Donald Trump taunted him to his face about annexing his country. When a reporter asked after the sit-down what was going through his head while he listened to Trump, Carney had an acerbic answer. “Well, thank you—I guess—for your question,” Carney began. “I am glad you could not tell what was going through my mind.”" -

What Thai bank credit card do you have?
I applied for Thai Amex without a WP and on LTR visa. They used my Amex history from my home country and asked me for a year of income statements. Gave me unsecured Amex that earns Thai airways points with a 300,000 baht limit. Accepted at about 60% of the places my KBank visa is accepted.
