snoop1130 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Internet users are upset with a foreign man who signaled a bystander to keep silent as he used bolt cutters to remove a police lock from his illegally parked motorbike. The event occurred around noon on Friday, April 26, and was recorded and shared on social media, becoming a viral post as reported by The Phuket News. The foreign man had illegally parked his motorbike outside Kasikorn Bank on Phang Nga Road in Phuket Town which led to traffic police placing a wheel lock and chain on the bike. The man initially tried to shake the lock off when he returned to his bike. When he failed, he briefly left, leading the observer to believe he was going to the police station to pay his fine. But, he came back five minutes later carrying bolt cutters and used them to free his motorbike from the chain and lock. The man noticed he was being observed, and signaled the observer to be quiet with a finger to his lips. He then casually rode away on the motorbike but made sure his passenger was wearing a helmet. Many social media users have questioned why the man would buy bolt cutters instead of just paying the fine, which they believe would have been cheaper. Prathueng Phonmana, the Phuket Town Police chief, has instructed officers to study the CCTV footage of the occurrence, cooperate with traffic police, and identify the man in order to bring him to justice. Goat Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 I hate when that happens. The coppers are red hot in Phuket town. You have to go to the police station to pay it first. Maybe he needed his bike to get there to pay it? 1
sammieuk1 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Sure that's Bob Cropper making a bolt for it 🤔 1

john donson Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 good investment... were other bikes chained for ransom? 1
Aussie999 Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Dob in a farang would they have done the same if it were a thai. Do we know why it was padlocked. Did it gave any indication it was put on by the cops, and ticket issued. All questions a reasonable journalist would ask. 1
Robert Paulson Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 I feel so sorry for the corrupt police said no reasonable person ever

TBH a sane-thinking person would deem it a child's prank C'mon a handful of satang's worth of old rubbish wrapped around your wheel wouldn't mean anything more elsewhere on the planet 1
ignore it Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Note to self: Never park your bike rear to the curb anticipating an easy exit. (So forang) Be like the Thai and just rock up and park nose in.
London Lowf Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 He looks to be parked legally - I would guess that the offence was the lack of a number plate.
