We attended the Pattaya City Hall Security Officers Unit at the rear of Pattaya City Hall on Thursday Morning after a group of officers had detained two Chinese Monks in Soi Gopia in South Pattaya, who were seen asking members of the public including foreign tourists for money to fund the renovation of a Temple in China. Both Monks who arrived in Thailand on a Tourist Visa were found to be carrying the correct identification papers confirming they were practicing monks in China and were attached to the Long Sing Goo Temple in Feurng Yang City. However their activities here in Thailand were illegal and both men were sent to the Immigration Office in Jomtien for further investigations. They may now face deportation or even criminal charges.
