Quick One: Residency Certificate

Recommended Posts

Depends on which office you are going to, they all have varying requirements. Usually copies of PP showing a long stay visa, a TM30 receipt,  a couple of photos. Some offices wont do one on a visa exempt or tourist visa.

That's a good point. But you really need to mention which immigration office you'll be using, as the requirements differ between offices.

Jomtien have their own form to fill out and won’t accept one from the online Thai immigration portal. Check with your local immigration department.

Sorry, Chaeng Wattana

You require photocopy of last TM47

Along with items mentioned in thread.

Use this form. If you are obtaining car and bike license just tick drivers license as you can use photocopy.

https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439173

Cost 200b and posted out. Takes approx a week.

No on the spot COR possible at CW

I need one to extend a 5 year drivers license at Bang Jak land office, On nut.

However, I currently am on a TR60 visa, so not 90 reporting receipt, I can get a TM30 from my apartment owner.

Is there any chance of getting a COR at CW , based on the above ?

What if I return with a O-A visa and have no 90 day report?  Later this year?

No. CW requires you to have made a 90 day report at CW immigration.

Which embassy.

Some embassies issue equivalent to COR.

What are the benefits of having a residency certificate ?

Required to obtain/renew car/bike license.

Currently required to open bank account.

If you have annual extensions from non O etc some banks will not require COR

I applied this week at Chiang Rai immigration.  Only provided 1 & 2 from your list.  Told me to come back in a week to pick it up.  No mention I had to pay anything.  On LTR if that matters.

They are also a prerequisite to obtaining Tax Identification Numbers from our local revenue offices in the light of the taxation changes currently being discussed at length elsewhere on here! Maybe these are what has motivated the OP's request?

So presumably you are not American, Australian or British? It would appear from what you have said that individuals of those 3 nationalities living within the catchment area of Nonthaburi Immigration can, in practice, kiss goodbye to any chance of being able to drive legitimately on the highways and byeways of LOS.

Plus the risk in obtaining definitive info from the horse's mouth (i.e. your local immigration office) IMHO is that what you are told might depend on (1) the particular officer you speak to, and (2) more importantly, which side of the bed they got out of that morning!😔
