Biden Assures U.S. Weapons Won't Be Used to Strike Moscow or Kremlin

In an exclusive interview with ABC News anchor David Muir, President Joe Biden reaffirmed that U.S. weapons would not be utilized to strike Moscow or the Kremlin, despite his recent authorization for Ukraine to use them within Russian territory. The interview took place at the Normandy American Cemetery during the 80th anniversary of D-Day, underscoring the solemnity and historical significance of the moment.

When Muir inquired if U.S.-made weapons had already been used in Russia, particularly near the Russian-occupied Kharkiv region, Biden did not provide a direct answer. However, he emphasized that these weapons would not be used to target Russia's capital or its government. "They're authorized to be used in proximity to the border when they're being used on the other side of the border to attack specific targets in Ukraine," Biden explained. "We're not authorizing strikes 200 miles into Russia and we're not authorizing strikes on Moscow, on the Kremlin."

Muir also questioned Biden about Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent comments, which suggested that supplying high-precision weapons to Ukraine for strikes on Russian territory constituted direct participation in the war. When asked if these remarks were concerning, Biden responded, "I've known him for over 40 years. He's concerned me for 40 years. He's not a decent man. He's a dictator, and he's struggling to make sure he holds his country together while still keeping this assault going."

Biden's clear stance was that the U.S. is not providing Ukraine with weapons to attack major Russian targets but rather to defend against the significant fire from conventional Russian weapons. "We're not talking about giving them weapons to strike Moscow, to strike the Kremlin, to strike against -- just across the border, where they're receiving significant fire from conventional weapons used by the Russians to go into Ukraine to kill Ukrainians," he stated.

This interview coincided with Biden's visit to France to commemorate the Allied forces' D-Day landings in 1944, a pivotal event that contributed to the downfall of Nazi Germany and the conclusion of World War II. The day held profound historical resonance, as Biden participated in ceremonies remembering the sacrifices made for freedom and democracy.

Later in the day, Biden was scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss the ongoing war effort. This meeting was anticipated to address further strategic support and the complexities of the conflict.

No talks for peace.

Just talks of more war!

America needs biden like it needs a whole in the head!

Certainly not a performative President who boast he can stop the war in 24 hours. A statesman like Joe Biden will worked with the allies, congress and his adminstration for a peace deal.

A peace deal in Ukraine is easy  just stop supplying aid and weapons to Ukraine !

There will be no peace deal without Russian involvement....continual supply of armaments will not help a "peace" deal.

Its much easier than that. Putin can order his so called army to turn around and head back to Russia

Trump did just that. Stop military aid to Ukraine to coerce Zelenskyy. Russia then invade Ukraine.

What fools like him don’t realise is that what he thinks is acceptable does not matter. It’s what Russia thinks that matters. Just goes to show how incompetent these top western leaders are in world diplomacy.

Winning?  He already won.  Ten years ago in Crimea.  A couple of years ago in Donbas.

Under Obama and Biden respectively.  Crickets under Trump, but that's a topic for other threads...

"Fire Discipline", the language / voice procedures used by artillery to control fire has a new phrase: as well as "at my command" ", "bearing", fuze details, time schedules, "elevation", it now has " if Joe Biden approves"!

"Fire Mission Battery, grid 123456, direction 2000 mils, target supply convoy crossing bridge, at my command, ten rounds in effect, if Joe Biden approves!"

Cynical yes, but having to fight a war with one hand tied behind your back inevitably leads to greater casualties and defeat.

There has not exactly been any restrictions applied to the widespread Russian missile and air bombardment of Ukraine!

He could save some of the Russian lives that are being slaughtered?

Yes he could. However he estimates that Ukraine’s casualties are 5 times higher so it’s really more in Ukraine’s interest to capitulate. But that’s unlikely to happen as some lawmakers in America has declared to fight to the last Ukrainian. Poor Ukraine.

Shhh… not so loud. The other side still thinks Ukraine is going to win. You don’t want to hurt their feelings now, do you?

I'd like to see the killing and the pointless dying stop and the rebuilding start.  And see Europe step back from the nuclear abyss.

I'm also amazed at the pro-Israel posters who think Israel will survive if 200% of America's war manufacturing capacity gets sent to fight a Euro ground war with Russia.  They haven't been listening to the experts who are telling the warmongers that it'll take years to ramp up war factories to fight Russia.  Israel will be gone in 2 years if their enemies attack and the USA and UK aren't there to assist, because we're strapped in Ukraine.

To late for that, Putin need to withdraw his troops, then we are talking peace! Putin can not win, but neither can Ukraine! Simple as that this is a trench war!

Putin can not win

He has already "won" 25% of Ukraine and could go on further if the "collective west" keeps pushing him...remember he holds the ultimate "trump card"

and no that is not a reference to Donald Trump.

Whatever territory Putin holds for now, it doesn't matter until the war is over, and peace has been signed. . So Putin has so far won nothing!

I assume they will eventually ask Putin for a peace plan  at the moment Zelensky says he will not talk to him  so no possible peace plan   remember the "trump card"
