A £ to a pinch of Thailand's finest Buffalo dung, that this govts decision to re-criminalise "This wonderful plant of Peace" will get reversed.Just like their 300 Baht tourist charge, and their proposed tax on foreign income for residents,to which anyone with a modicum of sense,a simple workaround exists.

This govt, loves to open their mouths, before first engaging their brains. For a people who hate losing face, this govt certainly succeeds.

Posted 3 times? Fault in the system or are you just trying to ensure that you get your point across?

I do, however agree with your post - "Now Even More  Amazing Thailand - the "Hub of Turnarounds"!

You can look to extensive studies in other countries. You're right about THC levels. I would think that rather than illegalizing it they could assert more control (theoretically) over what is being sold legally. As opposed to more manpower (theoretically) wasted trying to enforce an unenforceable law. If I were a seller I would be happy to submit samples for testing, it would enhance sales to be able to say it was tested and approved.

I don't think that the majority of people, especially tourists, would be interested in buying "Mary Jane" with a less than 2% THC content.

The dangers of the roads in Thailand is ridiculously accepted by the Thai public but a bit of puff and some people are up in arms.  Strange priorities Thai people have

What about people who smoke it recreationally. They become criminals overnight whilst the real criminals will once again benefit monetarily from recriminalisation. Someone tell me why this makes sense?

Well it's been 12 hours and nobody on here has answered the question. WHY DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? Why recriminalise? Come on there's enough posters on hear typing out "pot heads" plenty of times. Well answer my question. It's straightforward. Why recriminalise?

Not Thai people generally. Dopes been smoked here for centuries. It's purely political and it's purely Thaksin. Anyone who is actually opposed to dope being regulated and supports recriminalisation apart from the politics are those with monetary vested interests and the religious conservatives/nutters.

Casino's will put the icing on the cake. Just a few opening in NZ have screwed up peoples lives big time, just about all the Thai's I know in NZ have had problems with gambling, most still do, slot machines also have ruined people and it continues to be a major problem in NZ

Try and imagine if they outlawed booze....prohibition would make a lot of criminals insanely wealthy...outlaw pot and lot of "criminals" will figure a way to satisfy the demand.  Politics is one thing but supply and demand always prevails.

This is what people are saying and what I've been saying since this kicked off. This is, however, not what Thaksin wants.

I agree. It is clear that teflon is manipulating the puppets strings behind the curtains.

In the UK, one Working Men's Club Concert Secretary told me that they were making more profit off 2 "one arm bandits" then they were off the bar!

Whatever the Constitution setup it makes one wonder who really in charge.

So call newcomer win election went to Harward but too stupid to cross his T&I hold on to shares claiming they are worthless.

Then Senate is the one that actually picks the PM, now figure out they dont like hiim and pushing to replace him.

Meantime he is the PM, want to reclass weed but everyone that suppose to work or under him are going about as if they are the PM!

What a kangoroo government!
