Foreigner Assaulting Thai Woman on Walking Street in Pattaya

On 17th June, a video was uploaded to the “Social Hunter 2022” Facebook page, showing a foreigner assaulting a Thai woman in Pattaya. The incident occurred on Walking Street in South Pattaya, Chonburi, in the early hours of 16th June, around 4:30 AM.

 

In the minute-long video, a heavily tattooed man dressed in a tank top and shorts can be seen growing increasingly aggressive.

 

The woman filming narrates the unfolding altercation, providing a firsthand account. Initially, the foreigner attacked another foreign man.

 

 

As the Thai woman attempted to record the violent scene on her mobile phone, the foreigner turned his aggression towards her, delivering a punch to her face and leaving her bloodied.

 

Eyewitness accounts from bar employees, including a cashier, confirmed the sequence of events. They stated that the woman was simply documenting the altercation when she was struck by the foreigner.

 

Police promptly intervened, with officers from the tourist police taking control of the situation. They advised the injured woman to report the incident to the local police station. Although attempts to reach her for further comments were unsuccessful, it has been confirmed that she has filed a formal complaint.

The video has since gone viral, stirring discussions about tourist behaviour and safety in Pattaya.

 

Many viewers are calling for stricter measures to prevent such violent acts and to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors in the area.

 

Authorities are now investigating the incident, and the public eagerly awaits further developments, hoping that justice will be served and that such disturbing events will be curbed in the future.

Maybe she should have asked his permission first before filming......her actions were pretty stupid, the man was already hyped up what did she think would happen. That is not to excuse his violence towards her but she wasn't very street smart.

I'm going to guess she wasn't the only person filming. The farang's actions were stupider and he has worse street smarts. Getting involved with Thai police is not a good idea.

Hard to tell with all the background noise but he sounded British when he was screaming F… off in the first couple of seconds of the clip.

I agree but others would be filming out of arms reach, getting into someones face who was angry and probably drunk is just as much a poor decision as his.

Consequences are a part of life and always exist as he will certainly find out to his cost, unfortunately he will probably only be fined instead of a stint in jail.

Pretty busy at that time.

I think I remember that the Pattaya police was out maybe a week ago. And they closed the only bar which they found was still open at 2:30am.

So as you have made a very judgemental comment - can you perhaps enlighten all of us to explain what happened in the lead-up to the filming that precipitated the actions of the person being filmed. Its kinda important to know that. So what happened before the lady started filming that caused this response??

Maybe he was scared - late at night in a foreign country, surrounded by a group of strangers, with at least 4 people (in the video) grabbing him (which incidentally is also assault)  - he doesn't speak the language and he just wants to get away.

 

The point is no one knows what caused him to respond in this manner - and just because you wouldn't, that doesn't mean he was wrong - even though you would disagree with that sentiment.

 

The problem with the internet and the world, in general, is we all see 40-second video clips and we all make these knee-jerk reactions and character judgments when we know nothing about the background or circumstances that led up to the situation.

Oh yeah! He really seemed scared. What are you missing. He was the aggressor! A scared person will try to walk away, not escalate the problem. Did he look scared to you?

Does he look scared to me???.... I have no idea as I do not know what he looks like when he is scared or displaying any other emotion... and neither do you. You are simply filling in the gaps to suit your PoV.

No scared people do not always walk away - fight or flight syndrome - a biological survival response that most animals have evolved over 100's of thousands of years. Soldiers fight so well because they're petrified. (obscure and not entirely relevant but it makes the point).

You must be having a laugh. The only thing you are successful with here is incoherent babble. You have no idea, and also referring to soldiers in war. This is a night out in Pattaya, and nothing more to it. The guy is behaving bad, and needs to be calmed down. 

Also, you are talking to a person who have experience of war. My experience tells me that it´s not the scared soldiers that fights best. The ones who fight best, are the ones who can keep calm and composed during a battle, always being aware of the positions of the their team members.

No, I most definitely do not agree with the assumption that he was assaulted first. They only thing that was happening, was that people tried to be nice, and calm him down. He should just have been thrown out and told to go home.
