Weather forecasts indicate a significant weather event today, with thunderstorms expected to impact 32 provinces in Thailand. The Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued warnings about potential dangers and advises residents to prepare for heavy rain and strong winds, particularly in Bangkok, where 40% rainfall coverage is anticipated.

The forecast reveals moderate but weakening southwesterly monsoon effects over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Although this reduction lowers overall rainfall intensity, thunderstorms remain likely in several regions, driven by a low-pressure system over northern Vietnam, leading to heavy rain in Thailand’s upper northern and northeastern provinces.

Seafarers should note that sea waves could exceed 1 metre during thunderstorms, prompting caution. Mariners are advised to avoid navigating in affected areas.

**Regional Breakdown:**

- **Northern Region:** Thunderstorms expected in 40% of the area, with Chiang Rai, Phayao, and Nan provinces being hit hardest. Temperature lows: 24-27°C, highs: 33-37°C, with southwesterly winds at 10-15 km/h.

- **Northeastern Region:** Similar conditions will affect 40% of the area, particularly in Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Ubon Ratchathani. Temperature lows: 24-25°C, highs: 33-35°C, with southwesterly winds at 10-20 km/h.

- **Central Region:** Thunderstorms will cover 40% of the area, affecting locations such as Nakhon Sawan and Saraburi. Temperature lows: 24-26°C, highs: 35-37°C, with southwesterly winds at 10-20 km/h.

- **Eastern Region:** Expect thunderstorms in 40% of the area, with significant impacts in Sa Kaeo and Chon Buri. Temperature lows: 25-28°C, highs: 31-35°C, with southwesterly winds at 15-30 km/h.

- **Southern Region (East and West Coasts):** Both coasts will see thunderstorms covering 30% of the area, predominantly affecting Phetchaburi on the eastern side and Trang on the western side. Temperature lows: 23-26°C, highs: 32-36°C, with southwesterly winds at 15-30 km/h. Sea waves may exceed 1 metre during storms.

- **Bangkok and Surrounding Areas:** The capital and its surroundings will experience thunderstorms in 40% of the area. Temperature lows: 26-28°C, highs: 33-36°C, with southwesterly winds at 10-20 km/h.

Residents are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the weather's potential dangers. Mariners should especially heed warnings and stay safe out at sea.
