Kamala Harris Running Mate Update: Jim Clyburn Names Three Governors as Potential VP Picks

Several analysts remarked that it would be better for there to be a mini-primary to affirm Harris or select someone else as the nominee. This would keep voters from thinking that the grassroots is being ignored in the choice of Biden's replacement.

Time wasted not getting on Trump, while she has wrapped it up in record time.

Well Doug Emhoff, the now Second Gentlemen and potential First Gentleman was born Jewish.  So the Democratic Candidate for President has a Jewish Husband. This could mean something or it could mean nothing if Mr. Emhoff is no longer a practicing member of the Jewish faith.

It means nothing either way.

I think Shapiro. Pennsylvania is a swing state and bigger than Michigan in terms of electors. No sense bringing in a senator, most are not big names outside their state and =most are pretty useless as people or politicians. Just don't give us another useless DEI pick....I have no interest for numbskull given jobs they are unable to fulfil. Just look at Harris.....zero personal achievements, worse than nobody as the czar of southern migration and running Joe's record.

How many times have you listened to an interview with him defending Trump

Mini me choice.

Deplorable is a step up.

I do agree his rise frompoverty is amazing

Can you specifiy on what issue Vance defended Trump?  In 2016 Vance was not a fan of Trump.  What changed then?

Harris has had some nefarious relationships in the past that are going to expose her compromising morals to the voting public. Harris choice as a running mate will not matter.

Never mind.

Republican Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming, whom Vance has described as a mentor, told Reuters that Vance shifted his views on Trump because “he saw the successes that President Trump as president brought to the country.”

I was agast at his commiment at defending Trump now.

Let me see if I can share an example.

So you must condemn Harris, a strong proud black woman.

She has certainly focused on that side of her family now that it is politically advantageous to do so.

I guess the black vote is more powerful than the Tamil vote...

Pointing out the truth? I know you hate that Chomps.

Maybe you can point out another reason why she is always referred to by the Democrats as a Black woman as opposed to a Tamil woman?

Maybe the Dems just hate Tamils? Or maybe, just maybe, it's a cynical strategy to ignore the Tamil side of her heritage in order to get more black votes? Imagine that...

Jonny, like very many Americans she’s of mixed race, she is proud of her mixed heritage:

CLAIM: Harris is not Black.

THE FACTS: This is false. Harris is Black and Indian. Her father, Donald Harris, is a Black man who was born in Jamaica. Shyamala Gopalan, her mother, was born in southern India. Harris has spoken publicly for many years, including in her 2019 autobiography, about how she identifies with the heritage of both her parents.”

Forgive the linked article Jonny, while it corrects your customary ill informed nonsense, it also includes a few ‘trigger words’ that might set you off.

She will get both the black and Indian American votes. That’s the beauty of it.

By the way, there are many ethnic groups in India and Tamil is a small minority. American Indians traditionally vote Democrat.

She is not black, she is mixed race. Her father is Irish Jamaican/Afro Jamaican and her mother is Tamil.

It doesn't get much more mixed race than that.

The reason she is constantly referred to as "black" by the Dems is to get the "black vote". Her Asian heritage is ignored. Very disrespectful to Tamil people IMO. As someone in a mixed race relationship with an Asian woman I find this anti Asian racism from the Dems disgusting.

Beauty? What is beautiful about people being stupid enough to vote based on the race of the candidate as opposed to their character and policies.

That would be like me voting for Starmer instead of Sunak because Starmer is white. Sounds a little racist to me.

There is zero chance AOC will be picked for VP.

True, she is far more useful in the House of Representatives! Someone is needed to replace Bernie Sanders as the "enfant terrible" to make the "Christian Nationalists" ( such a less perjorative term than "Fascists") wake up in a sweat at night!

Your ignorance in these matters is so profound, providing you with a linked article specifically addressing the subject can’t penetrate it.

You really haven’t got a clue what you are on about.

Same with Obama who is mulatto, half white half black. So he should be called mulatto.

Let's keep it simple.

Is she black or mixed race?

If you consider her black, I assume you are applying the one drop rule.

Obama is mixed race.

Those are the facts. If you wish to call him black, that's your perogative but I am dealing with the facts.

Thats the beauty. Trump has no policies and a flawed character. No sensible educated voters will vote Trump. Trump will not get the black, women and young generation votes. Tough pill to swallow but that is the reality. Too bad it sound racist.

Trump has plenty of policies. You might not like them but that does not mean they do not exist.

Yes, voting for a candidate based on their race is by definition, racist. If a white man came on here and said they were voting for Trump ahead of Harris because Trump is white and Harris is not, every Liberal on here would be screaming Racist at them. Can't have it both ways.

In response to your earlier post I provided you a link to an article that references Kamala Harris’ own frequently expressed views on the matter.

But as I say and as you demonstrate, your profound ignorance on the matter is impermeable to facts presented in linked articles that address the very subject.

Of course, because it is convenient for her to not remember that her mother is from the Brahmin caste, the most elite and some would say racist caste in India.  That certainly would not go over well with her Democratic Socialist buddies. Nor would her father's assertion that he is descended from one of Jamaica's largest slave owners.
