Breaking an Engagement to a Thai woman, does she keep the ring?
That was my thoughts on this.. A lot personal anecdote is going to be involved as traditions and modernisation comes into this... But, I always understood that Marriages in Thailand work slightly differently than in the west from the ceremonial and engagement point of view. i.e. The Ring (engagement) is not usually part of the process... Its straight to the Wedding Ceremony and there 'maybe' an engagement ceremony on the same day early in the morning etc. When we were married, we omitted the 'early morning' stuff as I didn't want my Wife to be exhausted by mid evening (middle of the evening ceremony). Thus: We had a Midday thing at her house, then off to the hotel. Then a 'smaller engagement ceremony' at the hotel at about 5pm, at which point both an engagement ring and wedding ring went on. Then into the evening Wedding Party.... Thus from personal anecdote, the engagement ring was only given on the actual wedding day... Even though the wedding had been planned for over 6 months, we never entered a an engaged phase where my Wife was my 'fiancé'... -

Do fish have emotions?
They are sentient, and they have some sort of internal mental life. Whether that's equivalent to our emotions is probably unknowable. But some species have complex social structures, and within those they have strong preferences for which individuals they choose to spend time with and which ones they avoid. They are aware when an individual they prefer dies or is removed from the community. They look for them or wait for them in their favourite places. There is a lot of behavioural evidence that they thrive when they are surrounded by individuals they prefer and do poorly when forced to be alone or with individuals they would not choose to be around. It's probably anthropomorphic to say they are happier when they are with friends, but behaviorally, that's what it looks like. Commercial fish farms have to keep the fish 'happy' because they won't eat well or breed well if they don't. Even if all of their physical and nutritional needs are well met, they are still prone to something akin to depression or stress. Get it some new friends as soon as you can. -

Which bit didn't you understand? The drivers who undertake a queue of traffic to cut in front of the cars trying to overtake a slow moving lorry. Or the undertaking on multiple lane highways that have variable speed limits depending which lane you are in? May be you are transgressor which is why you don't recognise it. -

You assume - TRD is stupid (I don't think so) or - TRD doesn't care (I think so, if the amounts are small - but in that case, is it worth it?) You run the risk that your tax official gets angry at you: "do you think we are stupid?" But who knows, her reaction might also be "you very smart". TIT -

Presumably most growers are local. And I wish for all of them to be successful from their hard efforts. But as a consumer we are also interested in getting the best product we can for our money. And I see some of them charging more than I feel they should for some of their products. So I think there has to be the right balance in order for everyone to be happy. -

I just stated I could resettle anytime at Koh Phangan. Later I had to argue why Koh Phangan is better than Pattaya because Pattaya had everything I wanted 😂 So? -
