In dog pack attacks, its not like every dog took 3 bites a piece...there is always a leader and a more aggressive dog. While the attack is usually 1 to 2 dogs, the other dogs run around excited not knowing what to do....

Doubt the Thai authorities can manage a vicious assessment scale, but it is time for Thailand to try to quantify dog attacks just like car drivers

Excellent, I will recall this valuable information when my throat is being gently caressed by a pack of rabid attack dogs.

Old Grandpa opened the gate.
Did he?

Why is it not mentioned in the story?

Would you care to share the source of your information, as it seems the rest of us are not privy to it?

Did I say that they didn't?   You need to read the comment my post was in response to.

Another death just waiting to happen.      Kill or get killed so crush a 500mg Paracetemol tablet into a meaty treat and make sure those two dogs get one each.

Weve seen so many identical tragedies in these pages.

Also very effective to push half a tablet into a dead mouse to kill snakes.

This topic will go on for the typical 6+ pages as usual. Watch this space.

Bloody hell mate it will go on for 6 pages, you've posted this 3 times 😁😁

Legal or not, if you have a dangerous dog there ought to be a warning at the gate.

Khon Kaen is highly developed and Isan is a region of Thailand of which KK is just a part.

I am aware of that having spent a considerable amount of time in that area.

Issan countryside is beautiful if a little sparse on trees. Mostly fields filled with crops or just lay fallow. Still, outside of the inhabited areas it is a peaceful and relaxing place. Villages, towns, and cities not so good. Lots of bad guys and gals.

Just because a city is developed does not indicate sophistication or intelligence of the local population.

I was thinking the same the other day.....after living there for 14 months I don't even recall seeing a dog?????

outside of Bangkok or bigger cities dogs are a nightmare. We called them Mafia lol.

They love to just lounge in streets, chase anything with wheels, bark all night, the list goes on.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.  Don't get me started on those G* D*mn chickens and roosters hahaha

Other stories said the lady owner went out, but forgot to lock the driveway gate. The gate is one of those light swinging types and easy to knock open if not locked. The old guy rode by on his bicycle as he often does. The dogs would rush out to bark at any passing bicycle, but the gate is normally locked. This time when the dogs rushed the gate it bumped open and the old man was defenceless.

An accident waiting to happen, in my view.

Thank you for confirming what happened ....

So the dogs did escape from the yard while the old man was riding past   !!

If that's correct,  the owner should be facing serious charges ....  but TIT  .. so it's a birds nest basket and a couple of wai's and it'll all be forgotten.

Regardless of the why, if the dogs are a threat to safety, they are toast. I would not risk all of the little children and old folks in my village for a psycho dog.

The three dogs running free are now psycho?

Firstly I don't believe there are three American Bully dogs running around  free . I think that's a made up story . I am sure if they were , someone would had said something already.

Another murder by dogs, happens all the time, usually children and now older people.

No jail time for owners so it will never change: money over justice or is money justice?

TAT worries about real(spending) tourists not coming back few things to consider and eliminate: free roaming soi dogs and muffler-less motorbikes to eliminate noise.

Tourists I talked at airport complain and express serious concern over dogs running all over the place(7-11 shops) and motorbike noise !!!.

XL" bullies" are banned in the UK after a number of deaths and injuries caused by the breed. To continue ownership of one here they have to be registered. No new ownership is permitted. Many were put down in UK after several serious incidents and the new law coming into force. They are NOT pets. Be warned.

Any dog they shorten the name of seems to be dangerous, Rottie, Staffie, Pittie etc. Rotties are high up on the list of dogs attacking people.

But people still have them in UK, no order to have them put down if they follow the rules, most of the owners don't. They get them because they are violent and dangerous dogs, what other reason could there be?

This mantra that it's just the fault of lack of training is specious. You cannot train an attack dog not to ever attack. They're bred for aggression and this can't always be suppressed.

"This genetic history is present in the XL Bully. “These dogs, being bred for aggression, are likely to inherit aggression,” says David Sargan, a geneticist at Cambridge Veterinary School. “However well you treat them, a proportion of them may explode.”

Wipe that breed out once and for all.

Not so easy idiots keep cross breeding them with other viscous dogs, it's not a Pitt Bull, XL bully etc is their usual argument
