At this level of politics, most candidates are wealthy.

As for Harris' background, it don't impress me much.  Shouldn't matter, yet sadly in 21st century America it makes a big difference. Especially for the democrats.  I mean, she just had a "White Dudes for Kamala" meeting.  Good lord, can you imagine the sputtering and vituperation if Trump had a "White DUdes for Trump" event? Heads would explode.

He did. In Charlottesville. It was called a white supremacists for Trump meeting.

Sounds like Trump attended in good faith, was ambushed with accusations, defended himself and pointed out the mistreatment, and now the MSM is doing their job of trying to spin it like he's the bad guy... 🙄

A typical biased hit-piece.

Another Trumper trying to excuse what actually came out of Trumps mouth (how long do you need to keep doing this).
No-one forced him to say what he said about Kamala, especially when the interviewer was only (and rightly) bringing up his past indiscretions regarding race and ethnicity. The man suffers from serious foot-in-mouth disease and can't be expected to answer anything in a diplomatic or indeed Presidential manner. He just opens his mouth and the vitriol just pours out.

Not in the United States, certainly.  Odds are that her family was part of the 'ownership' side of that particular issue.

You are, of course, aware that slavery is not a USA-centric thang, right? Just because the southern USA thought it was a great economic plan way longer than the rest of the world doesn't mean they were the only purveyors. Also, nice to hear an old white guy pontificating on the morals of others in history. Not out of place at all, especially with no evidence, only your sadly weird conjecture.

Sadly, for the terminally uninformed, race, culture, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, and literally every other bias has ALWAYS made a difference in American politics.

I'm surprised Trump stayed so long. Some would have been gone before that abc "b" finally asked her question. She was rude.

Yeah, listen to this guy. Political campaigns should be run like a snowflake reacting to an insulting social media post. Whinge, cry, run, cancel. That's what a true, strong leader does. Get the heck outta the kitchen - it's too hot. And y'all genuflect to the supreme weirdo. Incredible.

Loving the new 'weird' adjective now being levelled at the MAGA brigade because yes, they are just weird.

No need to address the lack of substance they always display. Just call em out for what they are. Strange folks, with strange ideas, who definitely do not speak for the majority.

Sounds like Trump attended in good faith, was ambushed with his own words. To bad he was too feeble to respond coherently.

Objectively, we should let "blacks" decide that, not you, you old white weirdo trying to speak for a population you have no attachment to whatsoever.

No, I disagree. Looking at the simple facts- record low unemployment, sentencing reform, funding for HBCU, he was good.

YOU, however, seem to have a strange attachment to labelling people. It's lazy.

Hmmm... Actual black people in America have no issues with her identity. Why is an old white weirdo questioning her race?

I'm not in a bubble like Maga weirdos. I can actually hear the voices of different people because I do not limit my info intake to a silo of weirdness.

Would be nice if that actually surfaced in your posts. Seems, to me, like you're just chewing the same cud as the rest of the weirdos.

So... In your expert opinion, what "race" are south asians? Very curious 🤔

There are multiple races in India.

Actually "race" is a misnomer, it should be "ethnicity".

My opinion is that Neanderthals, modern humans and Denisovans are racial groups.

So. You have no coherent answer for what race South Asians are. Really.

Maybe we should take a big step back and ask you to define " race" In your expert opinion.

It's not as though any of this is a mystery. A great portion of South Asians are defined as "indo-european".

Is that as weird and confusing to you as Kamala's ethnicity?

Do you know one of the first successful claims in in SCOTUS regarding race was a high-cast Pakistani claiming "white" ethnicity because of his "Aryan" ethnicity?

Another parrot, squaking the same tired talking points.  People focus on things like this because they are reluctant to discuss any issues of substance that might endanger their candidate.

Indo-European is a language family.

I already posted that there really is no valid concept of "race", except as I noted.

There are various ethnicities in India, some derived from ancient immigrants from Iran.

Really? You certainly sound like you are. You parrot the same talking points, use the same trite phrases, and show a lack of critical thinking that enbubbled people tend to feature.

I'm working my way into it.

After a decade plus of the truly enbubbled screeching, "snowflake, groomer, communist, radical, unpatriotic, baby killer, antifa, socialist, woke", and any other derogatory adjectives the authoritarian right whimsically dreams up, I'm gonna lean into weird.

It just perfectly describes the singularly narrow and self-harming political framework the right has unwittingly adopted.

So, just not going to address the SCOTUS ruling or the accepted claim of Aryan race. Ok. Up to you.

Science and law have definitions. Your goal us obfuscation. Weird. I wonder why?

I disagree.  You are different from the weirdo in chief. Trump actually has a sense of humour.

For a dude with a sense of humour, it's weird that I have NEVER seen him belly-laugh. Normal people belly-laugh every now and then. Honestly I don't know if I have ever seen him laugh at anything genuinely funny. Usually the weirdo is just chuckling at his own inane cruelties.

What is wrong with you? You remind ME of a weird old guy with far too much time on his hands, and far too few friends.

Which one?

If I remind you of someone, then which one?
