A South Korean visitor tragically lost his life while snorkelling near Ta Waen Beach on Larn Island, close to Pattaya City in Thailand. The incident happened yesterday afternoon.

The 37-year-old victim, Eik Yu-han, was on a snorkelling adventure with a fellow South Korean when the tragedy occurred. They had been in the sea for a considerable period.

According to reports, his friend noticed Yu-han floating face-down in the water and swiftly swam to his rescue, pulling him to the shore and calling for help. Attempts were made to revive Yu-han, through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Despite the immediate attention, the unfortunate Eik Yu-han could not be revived. He was hurried to an emergency medical center on the island, where further attempts at CPR proved unsuccessful.

The deceased's body has been transported to the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for an autopsy.
