Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Today's Bangkok Post has an article how the city government wants to drag street vendors into the formal economy. One of many requirement for street vendors: they must be in the RD system (with not more than 300,000 income after deducting Business-related costs) People who post "most Thais don't pay taxes" should read it. (But they will probably say "oh, they will never enforce it") -

Ideas for a low speed room fan?
undervolt the fan you could do as others suggest another option (same same but different) use a 12vdc fan like this one https://www.lazada.co.th/products/nnc-12-15-fan-12voltt-18w-16-bfe-40-dc-12-i4096882497 with an adjustable dc power supply, which there are many to choose from like this one for 90 baht i do similar on PCs with standard 120mm case fans if no controller but i want the fans to run at low speed i simply switch the molex connector around and force it in so the 12v fans are powered by 5v -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
"the UK-Thai tax treaty is worthless, i.e., you can't use the treaty's tie breaker language to determine which country has primary taxation rights, and the other secondary taxation rights?" I don't know the answer or how this reloves. -

Fire Breaks Out at Electric Motorcycle Shop in Sisaket Province
Picture from responders. A fire broke out at an electric motorcycle shop in Rasri Salai District, Sisaket Province, affecting and damaging five commercial building units. At approximately 17:00 on September 20, a fire engulfed the commercial building located at 349/4-9 Rattapracha Road (near Bangkok Bank, Rasri Salai Branch) in Mueang Khong Municipality, Rasri Salai District, Sisaket Province. According to preliminary inspections, the fire impacted five units, causing significant damage. The fire started in the electric motorcycle shop (349/6-8). The three units of the building were severely damaged, along with 29 electric motorcycles. The fire also spread to neighbouring businesses, a mobile phone shop (349/9), a single unit which suffered partial fire damage, and Thai Credit Bank Building (349/5), also a single unit sustained fire and heat damage. The Rasri Salai District Chief, in cooperation with the local police chief, emergency management officers, and volunteers, coordinated efforts to control the blaze. Fire trucks and water tankers from Mueang Khong Municipality and neighbouring local authorities were deployed, totalling 18 vehicles to control the fire. The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) had to cut power in the area, due to the proximity of high voltage cables to the fire. Responders were able to extinguish the fire by around 20:00. Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by forensic police. Local authorities are already assessing the damage with initial estimates of 5 million baht. -- 2024-09-20 -

Trust those who put their $$ where their mouth is - the bettors.
Whether more detail on policies would be political suicide is debatable. Most people will see her only on an electronic screen. What mostly counts there is impressionistic - their view of the human being on display. The detail of policies is - mostly - for the nerds to sweat over before coming up with a counter-slogan. In any case, so far she has scarcely put a foot wrong (unlike her opponent who steps in it every day). If she can continue to manoeuvre around policies without losing herself in the detail, she's probably on a winner. We'll all know soon enough. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
So, the UK-Thai tax treaty is worthless, i.e., you can't use the treaty's tie breaker language to determine which country has primary taxation rights, and the other secondary taxation rights? This would mean double taxation, which I doubt an expat Brit would stand for.... But, hey, King George tried SRT a few centuries ago, telling Americans they were honorary British residents, for tax purposes. We know how that ended. -
