The Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police (RTP) Torsak Sukvimol led police officers across Thailand to rally behind Police Corporal Kunlavut “View” Vitidsarnl, who is vying for the gold medal in men’s singles badminton at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They are ready to offer benefits to officers representing the country in international sports.

 

National Police Chief Torsak Sukvimol, alongside police officers nationwide, expressed support for Police Corporal Kunlavut, a member of the national badminton team, as he competes in the men’s singles final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The match, which aims to secure Thailand’s first Olympic gold in badminton, takes place tonight.

 

The 2024 Olympics feature this highly anticipated badminton men’s singles final at 8.50pm Thai time. Kunlavut, currently ranked eighth in the world, faces Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen, who holds the world’s No.2. A victory for Kunlavut would mark a historic achievement for Thailand in Olympic badminton.

 

In light of this significant event, Torsak has directed the Personnel Office to review and ensure that all benefits and support are provided to Kunlavut and other police athletes representing Thailand in the Olympics. This initiative aims to boost their morale and recognise their dedication to bringing honour and joy to the nation, said Torsak.

 

“The dedication and hard work of these athletes not only elevate Thailand’s stature on the global stage but also bring immense pride and happiness to all Thai people.”

The hard work of these athletes.. yes indeed the RTP can take an example and start doing teh same

Good for Thailand, hope he gets the gold.

 

What is sad is that sports, like other fields in this country, are controlled. I take something I know, MTB races, all winners are either Police or Army. Why, because they have the support (and time) to train. It's not like in other countries where you have a federation and they will help the better athletes to become better, compete internationally and surpass themselves in the Olympics. I'm sure there are many "good to become" athletes in this country but they'll never have a chance to show it as there is no infrastructure, management, coaching for "normal" athletes... Unless daddy pays but that again, is not a solution to have top world class athletes.

 

Maybe it will come when the government will not know what to do with the load of money they are going to make with the "landbridge" 😉
