Be careful lying on the massage tables in Thailand. Easy to catch infection.

Yes.

I agree.

Add to this, pedicure....almost anywhere.

I do not go for massages.

I do not go to get my nails clipped.

I do not go to the barber, either, although this has less to do with transmission of disease.

Think of skin diseases such as IMPETIGO, for example.

Do you really want to expose yourself to surfaces such as this which have not been thoroughly treated?

I go to a great dentist who cares very much about limiting transmission of disease.

This is important.

There is no real necessity to have a massage or a pedicure.

Better to just avoid potential pathways for disease if this can be avoided.

One can save money, as well, by avoiding massage and pedicure and haircuts at a shop.

My friend visited Thailand earlier this year and frequented opted going to get an oil massage full body. After 3 weeks here he had a terrible sore on his thigh that looked exactly like the one in the photo of this website.

That link has nothing to do with Thailand.

Maybe better to just go outdoors, and lie on a towel, under a tree, with a crust of bread, etc., and the masseuse.

I caught an MRSA from a hospital bed in Udon Thani!

I've sworn (to myself) never to stay in a hospital again. What else is lurking in those disease ridden places?

If my barber looked like that, then I would cut my own hair, for sure...maybe.

Go to a proper place and not some dive just because it is cheaper.

I do not do massages at home, either.

I do not like people pulling on my bones.

At your age, you should not be having boners.

The massage shop I go to always has clean linen on the bed, and a fresh pillowslip. I also get a fresh top and pants. 200 baht/hour.

There is one mystery I cannot comprehend. Try as I might, I cannot open the folded/ironed pants at the right end, ready to step into. I invariably have them upside down.

Perhaps Tralfamadorians think I need a bit of chaos in my otherwise orderly world.

Looks like you are going to a high end place with no happy ending on site. Massage only for you?
