800k in Bank when I apply for extension early?
Hello, let's say my Non-O extension expires Dec 15th. I can apply up to 45 days early, so let's say I apply for my extension October 5th. Does the day where I need to have the 800k in my account differ depending on the day when I apply? Thanks for your help. -

Which cooking oil to use?
That's why I do my own studies, on me. If numbers improve, then I'll stick with the new diet & Canola, If not, I'll adjust. The fats that I actually eat, are more important that the ones I cook with. Most are just for heat exchange for even cooking, and non stick is nice for clean up. Tallow & butter for taste. -

About the high class hotels
If it's a new hotel I always specify second floor, end of corridor. Apparently, your chances of surviving a fire, if you stay on the fourth floor upwards, diminish rapidly. -

Hello Collin, Look on the bright side no one is calling you BigBird. He is another member that likes changing names but somehow I think you already know that. -

What was your job (profession) when you moved to Thailand
Bsc in biology and Geology in the 70's, then worked as biochemist in a cannery, which closed. Next junior geologist on oil rigs in Libya, working conditions were pretty awful. Returned to UK and did a Masters in Freshwater biology (my passion). Then research that went nowhere. Offered a job with a Uranium mining company in Australia, but permission to mine refused by government - still in ground to this day. So made redundant. Back to UK hoping for job in the water industry, but no one hiring. Spent 18 months looking so career change to IT as civil servant for over 20 years. Then IT work outsourced to IBM - worst employer ever. They tried to make me quit by giving me impossible Projects, then made me redundant. To old for new job, looked for 2 years then retired, divorced nagging Lying wife and came to Thailand to fish. -

Thai man condemned for using free cafe WiFi to watch porn - video
Yes, it's a serious issue when a man looks at a woman and highly inappropriate. Especially when the guy is not good looking. The funny thing is you're absolutely right. Even among males, if a male stares at another man and causes the latter to feel threatened, to the letter of the law that could be threatening behaviour and thus common assualt. In the UK, recently a man was put away for 22 weeks in prison for staring at a woman. No joke. "Just last month a man was sentenced to 22 weeks in prison after a woman reported him for "continuously staring" at her on a train in Berkshire. https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/staring-on-tube-unhealthy-sexual-behaviour/ So this is where we've come to, just by looking at a woman she can get you thrown in prison. Starer beware. Richard, as always, is right. -

Frenchman arrested in Krabi for eight-year visa overstay
Yes, entering a country without authorization is usually considered to be an unlawful or illegal act. Where did I use the phrase "legal worker"? I do not see it. I believe that I had used the term legal and undocumented labour. The labour being an activity that was authorized as in documented with appropriate taxes retained and filings made. For example, activity undertaken by people with a work visa. Undocumented labour is activity that is not documented, as in permitted. -

About the high class hotels
Fair call. I usually get quiet rooms down the end. The weirdest room i had was on the top floor and the lift ran 1 short followed by a long walk plus stairs. Then it rained all night couldnt sleep. -

I think there is a line, which when crossed creates a situation which me be considered awkward at best and sexual harassment at worst. If someone considers themselves a decent human being, do they really need to be taught where that line is ?... 050416TFL_desk.mp4
