Go-bag?

Its for those who've watched to many CIA movies, where someone has been 'blacklisted'...

  • I guess seeing I don't have a degree I don't know what a go bag is.

  • My take on this - and I may be wrong - is that the OP is anticipating some sort of domestic calamity rather than a worldwide apocalypse.

Don't need any bags if WWIII breaks out while I'm in Thailand, I'll just sit on the porch fag in one hand, drink in the other, while trying to convince her indoors a BJ would be nice before we go.

Oh that! I keep it behind the seat of the Bell 505 at the safe-house.

Depends on size of bag but in general, minimum:

1. Passport

2. Brick of cash + gold

3. Tactical knife or knife/axe combo (in the US, add a Glock 9)

4. Pack of Amoxicillin (broad spectrum antibiotic)

5. Small first aid kit incl. tourniquet

6. Extra sets underwear & socks

7. Charcoal+immodium tablets for water purification/gastrointestinal

8. Power bank

9. Mosquito repellent lotion satchels

10. Nyson high tensile strength rope at least 10m in length strong enough to abseil with but thin enough to fit into bag.

11. Tactical gloves

This should all fit into a standard rucksack.

If bag is larger, add extra shoes if you have very big feet and are unlikely to be able to wear the shoes of other casualties from the zombie apocalypse you pass by. Tent. Tactical axe.

c'mon...  Jack Reacher is  fictional...

... Now Yellowtail seems like the real deal...  he has a Jet Ranger, a safe house and was secretive enough not to tell us what is in his go bag !!...    natural secretiveness of the job...  goes with the territory !!!!

... Chris Daley though - he's posted this topic twice so clearly wants everyone to think he's operating on the edge of subterfuge !!!....   I reckon he has a BB Gun and defo a paracord bracelet !!

Could your 'go bag' also be called your 'completely f***ed bag' ???...

.. If you lose it going to Makro, 7-11, coffee-shop, the park, or someone steels it while you are in the famous Kanchanaburi Surf....

That would be a first, since I've never lost or had anything pinched from me in my life.  All 3 easily replaced, along with the safest place for all three is with me.

There's surf in Kan ... do tell :coffee1:

IMO - the safest place for the passport is my safe...

...  Carrying anything around encompasses additional risk of loss - Passport is in the safe 100% of the time unless I need it.

I used the say the same thing...  I've never lost anything or hand anything pinched from me in my life...

.... Until I did... (lost my wallet)...    have also caught two attempts to pick-pocket me (Prague and Barcelona)....

Smaller size usually means excitable premature ejaculation, hence many more condoms. Most of our posters here, however, require XXL and occasionally worry about possible shortages in Thailand.

Fair enough - there I am back-tracking on the 'surf comment' then...

Though I'd be more concerned about the bag getting stolen off the beach, you can't swim / surf with it...

I don't swim in Thai waters anymore, well, very rare.  Maybe next pandemic I'll take a dip, as was the last time I was in the sea (Feb 2021).  Which case it's in the car with the dog.

My go bag is essential, but it's got everything I'll need in an emergency. I keep it simple—food that lasts, a good flashlight, and a first-aid kit. I also make sure to have a multitool and a pocket knife.

If I need to fix something or open a can, it's nice to have that. Water is super important, too, so I always have a few bottles or a water filter in there. I also pack an extra jacket and a hat—it’s incredible how much that can help when you're out in the cold. If you’re looking for good gear to stock up on, you might want to check out ranchhand.store. They’ve got some solid stuff that’s worth a look!
